BOARD DOWNTIME COMING

Within the next couple of days, we're going to have some slowdowns on the server because of some work going on to the back end of the board. At some point during that time, we will be going down entirely for a major upgrade of board software and work on the server. Once things go down, we'll be down until Sunday night or Monday morning, probably. Just depends on how long it takes to get everything done.

I've spent a significant amount of money on this upgrade and am having it done professionally so as to make sure it's done the best way it can be. If all goes well, we will keep all the posts, registrations, etc, but will be running it on the latest software with a lot of new features for everyone.

We're doing this now so that we can have everything up and running in plenty of time before the first game week. If there is a problem, we will just revert back to what we have, if necessary, without losing anything. We are backing everything up every step of the way.

The test upgrade is done, and it went well, so I'm confident that we can upgrade as planned without losing any posts, post counts, or anything that we have here. Site shutdown and full upgrade will happen Friday overnight, then we will reopen as soon as everything is ready to go over the weekend sometime. We won't wait - once it's ready, we'll reopen immediately.

I haven't decided what to do about spek. I may eliminate it entirely, I may replace it with something else, or I may leave it as is.
