All Star and Legend Kasey Studdard, formerly of the Univ. of Texas, was viciously and unjustly targeted by Jets players towards the end of the first quarter.

With the play having already moved downfield, due in no small part to Studdard's efforts, Jets defensive linemen Sheik Bahn Akbar and Hakeem "The Huka" Abdinijar, formerly of Kandujar A&M and the Univ. of PM (Prophet Mohammed) respectively, blindsided Studdard on a premeditated high low that left Studdard writhing in pain.

It was clear from the replays Studdard suffered a compound fracture of each femur, and also had his left arm severed below the elbow. Nobly, he struggled to his feet and played for two more series before finally motioning the training staff to his side. (It should be noted, after taking a knee at midfield for a few seconds, he was able to leave under his own power, with the only assistance being Jets Coach Rex Ryan walking off the field by his side with the severed limb held respectfully over his head in honor of the great Studdard.)

Commissioner Roger Goodell joined the telecast in the second quarter to announce the immediate indefinite suspensions of Akbar and Abdinijar. Deportation hearings are scheduled for Wednesday.

No reason that this should be treated differently from the Ron Artest and Todd Bertuzzi incidents, let them sit out the whole year without pay.
