View Full Version : What Does Your Car License Vanity Plate Say?

lexsooner

OK, who has a vanity plate, a car license plate with your personalized saying? I don't have one, but yesterday I saw a car with FLY GUY on his Kentucky car plate. Kentucky limits you to six characters. I think I saw the outline of a mullet on the driver's side in the car with FLY GUY.

Our former CEO had GRD STR as his plate. None of us could figure out what that meant. We finally decided it meant "Grand Stander" and not GERD Star, since he was an attention-seeking little man. Six characters is admittedly very limiting. I see no point in spending the extra money if nobody can figure out what your plate means.

Wow, are you a bell ringer at church? lol Each state reserves the right to refuse vanity plate names. One woman who loves to eat tofu wanted a plate which said ILUV TOFU. But this message has an alternative meaning, so the state turned it down. In Cali, some Italian Americans wanted names like BIG WOP or DAGO LDY, but the state refused them.

Our former CEO should have had SRT SHT or LTL MAN or NO CLSS or PRTNDR

They all say, "I am vain; it's about me!" Sheesh, they don't call 'em "vanity plates" for nothing. I rank vanity plates right down there with bumperstickers plastered all over the back of a car. (If I want your opinions, I'll ask.) Funny that this thread should appear close to the thread about the current dearth of modesty.

The difference is, TU, every once in a while a bumper sticker will make me chuckle, sometimes for reasons not intended. There is an SUV I see quite often when I drive to work in the morning. It has an "EKU Mom" sticker on the back (Eastern Kentucky University Mom), and every morning she has her arm out the window with a lit cigarette. This fits the stereotype of EKU as being full of hillbillies. Vanity plates always make me think the car owner is full of themselves.

I have a small American flag in the corner of my back windshield. Why did people stop flying or displaying them as the years went by after 9/11?

Well yeah, I have seen some funny bumperstickers, but I was referring to the cars with corner to corner stickers, usually shouting leftist slogans. There's this one beat-up pick-up I've seen in my neighborhood with a tailgate full of various stickers, the sum total of which is "I am a trashy, angry, atheist, lesbian, so F.you." For some reason, I have no desire to see the driver; I expect she probably looks like Dean, only a little more butch. :D

Truck Nutz and a sticker of Calvin peeing on a Ford sticker are high class in my area.

We have Texas plates that have Husker colors and emblems on them, but to get them we had to provide a vanity number. Because Mrs V and I both think vanity plates are teh ghey, we have CMR04 for the car and MCR04 for the truck. Hopefully it just looks like random alphanums; it's our initials plus the year we were married.

I think there are 2 kinds of vanity plates--those that make you look vain, and those that are clever.

Carey Blanchard has "NFLKIKR" or something like that on his plate--his kids go to same school as mine.

My jacked up Jeep has, "JAKD4OU"
