The Seahawks are out of the Kevin Kolb sweepstakes, according to a source. They had reservations about how steep the price would be in trade compensation paid to the Eagles and financial compensation paid to the QB.

The Seahawks have agreed to terms with Tarvaris Jackson, who played under offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell in Minnesota. Seattle also is expected to sign Matt Leinart, coach Pete Carroll‘s former QB at USC, to join Charlie Whitehurst on the roster.

Vikings WR Sidney Rice remains a prime free-agent target, according to the source.

Leinart is staying with the Texans.

Yep.

Says he wants a chance for a starting job. He'd be so much closer at Seattle than he will be in Houston.

Only idiots think that Tavaris Jackson is an NFL starter!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, THE IDIOTS!

Words cannot express the buffoonery that must go on inside between those men's ears to give Tavaris the money and shot at starting that they have!

Fact: Never threw for more than 9 touchdowns in a season.
Fact: Passer rating is below 100 when he isn't in mopup duty for Favre.
Fact: NO quarterback that has the benefit of the best running back in the NFL (AD, duh!) should have crappy stats like this!

As long as I'm ranting anyway, a public service announcement on thread titles:

KEEP THEM SHORT.

If the system tells you that your title is too long, then don't just shorten it to the maximum length. You wanna know why? Because quick replies automatically add "Re: " to the front of your long arse title and then OUR titles are too long to post, so then there is nothing quick about the quick replying and it is uberly annoying.

Thread titles should be short.

Thread titles must be short.

If you thread title is too long, then cut it in half. Don't just cut letters, cut WORDS. CUT, CUT, CUT. This is the NFL preseason after all. You should be thinking about CUTs.

Carson Palmer was all set to join Carroll in Seattle but the Bengals wouldn't release him!
