This infographic doesn't consider the value of the dollar, nor fluctuations in interest rates, yields, or leverage.

Even better if you use trillion dollar bills. You only have to stack up 14 of 'em to visualize the national debt!

That visualization, while striking, is hardly the best way to tell the story. If the world were 1000 times as large you could still come up with the same visuals...

A better idea is to simply divide the number by 300 million to get an idea of what it is for every man, woman, and child. But, then again, that takes skills in rudimentary math....
