Singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in Camden, north London, at the age of 27, police have confirmed.

Officers were called by the ambulance service to an address in NW1 just after 4pm today.

"On arrival, officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene," a police statement said.

Her death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are continuing into the circumstances, it added.

Terribly sad that the slope is so slippery and seemingly inevitable. No doubt we likely would not have ever heard her music if she wasn't what she was.

I'm sure her parents and step dad are broken up over it but all three were quoted back in 07-08 as saying they knew she was going to die unless she stopped. I think her mom even ask her where she wanted to be buried. They tried several interventions and to get her into rehab and we all know how that turned out.
