FLINT, Michigan — Former Flint Southwestern and University of Alabama star running back Mark Ingram was involved in a car accident at 1 a.m. Friday, according to a report on nola.com.

Ingram, and his girlfriend, reportedly collided with an 18-wheeler in or near Huntsville, Ala. says the report.

Ingram — who was drafted as the 28th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints — his girlfriend, and the semi-truck's driver Paul Clewis, left the scene uninjured. Ingram's 2008 two-door Infiniti was towed from the scene of the accident, according to the report.

The report says that neither drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.

He's the cover boy of NCAA 12 I think. He must be sitting on that cash...wisely might I add.

Wow. It's unusual for someone to walk away unscathed after losing to an 18-wheeler. Glad to hear they are all right.

Agree. cars + 18 wheelers = bad. Glad to hear all are okay.

Too many senseless accidents. Getting ejected through the rear window of a 300ZX ended the budding career of Senor Sack / Gabe Riveria. Again, glad Ingram is okay.

Glad he is OK. I grew up near Flint. We played Southwestern back when Rick Leach was there. We always hear about SEC speed but they do not admit that some comes from players outside the South.
