This was on a video that carlson and sherman talked about so I haven't seen it here so thought it'd be a cool discussion. Which Sooner on this squad is irreplaceable this season? offensive, defensive, both... I say offense is broyles, defense t. lewis.

We have a few good WR's who could fill in Broyles' spot if he were to go down, BUT, If we lost Landry I think we'd be in for a looong season. On D, I'd hafta go with T. Lew.

I'd probably go with Jones and Wort. Not that they're the 'best', but just that our hopes for a special season would fade pretty quickly if either went down.

We lose three games a year ago without Winchester's fumble recoveries. :D

Nebraska embarasses OSU in Arlington and this thread is a fire Venables thread. To lose him would disrupt the space time continuum.

Landry on Offense. Anyone off of the D-line next year will be critical esp the Hammer.

Almost always the QB...unless all you do is run dives.

As much as I think Landry runs the offense, Broyles creates so many opportunities for the O that I think losing him would hurt more. And on D I think losing Hurst would kill us. He makes that side of the field disappear and that helps our D more than I think most realize. How often would those coverage sacks have happened if our best corner was Fleming?

Travis may make calls, but I think we'd survive with Nelson in there instead. We might have to simplify some, but we would be fine.

I just hope we don't have to find the answer to this question this year.

If Landry is not back there to throw the ball to Broyles, it may be hard to get the ball to Broyles. It's football...if your QB is as good as ours is, it is always the QB.

Defense is the more interesting question. I think it remains to be seen who the real leader...not the vocal leader, media leader, most popular leader...is going to be. The playmaker, I guess you could say.

My suggestion of Wort on D is not due to his 'leading' the D, but rather to the lack of a quality replacement in the event he goes down...and what it does to your D if hte MLB quality drops off.

I would say my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the most irreplaceable Sooner. Followed by Travis Lewis.

Pfffft! This is a no-brainer. QB is always the most critical position and most difficult to replace. Everyone should remember that from two years ago.

It is us, the fans. If a Sooner team wins a title and there is no one there to go insane with wild celebrations, did it really happen? (Similar to the Helen Keller falling in the forest paradox).

If we are talking players then it's ..Landry Jones and it's not even close.
