We just don't put a lot of stock into recruiting on the main fb board is all. And it's not like a guy who's not played his senior year yet in high school is threatening any of our guys for playing time yet.
Come this time next year when Landry's been drafted number one overall, they'll all be salivating over the thought of him winning OU's seventh Heisman Trophy. ;)

"Only problem is the deep ball." "Not a fast runner". Well, s***. What, we have some sort of allergy to QBs who are well-rounded?

Welcome, kiddo. But pardon me if I hope we're still breaking balls to recruit GK.

I'm glad you posted it, but I did see if first on another board.

He is listed as 6ft2 and 200 lbs, but the Scout Evaluation has him listed at 160 lbs. The build reminds me of a Colt McCoy.

FWIW James Hale said on the radio this morning that his brother would be a walk-on tight end. He said the Knight family asked if OU was going to offer the QB a scholarship and OU said they would offer to a player ready to commit so he did. Evidently they think his 6'5" brother could be a good tight end. It sounds to me like Bob gets tired of messing with some of the recruits.

Good. We've been burned by more prima donnas than have been great for us. Get kids that can play and want to be here.

Plus, having two QBs from San Antonio on the roster is cool. Go San Antonio!

I'm all for giving credit for aTm's great play and recent success...but OU will never do scraps, Aggie or otherwise. Pfft.

We also took scraps like aTm's best recruit last season in Corey Nelson. But I'm sure that wasn't a big deal...

That's pretty funny. My definition of "scraps" is something you don't want and are throwing out. Must be different definition in College Station. Looks like we took the meat right off the t-bone while still on the plate.

Word. The only thing that comes close is when we get an unrecruited or less highly regarded player from in-state a chance. We don't need their state's scraps. We steal all their talent, remember? :rcmad:

to be fair, the aggies got another qb commit recently and that ticked off the knight kid, so he came back to ou and visited campus again with his family... supposed to be a good athlete, was injured last year i think... not great stats, only like 48% completion percentage...

Does it matter what our quarterbacks are ranked?

We have two Heisman winners, a runner-up, a candidate next year (Landry), and an overall 1st pick in the NFL draft under Stoops. I trust our coaches more than any in developing a QB; also, see Drew Allen at Spring game.

The only really highly-rated QB we've recruited that has actually seen the field, was Rhett Bomar. We all know how that turned out. I guess Blake Bell was a really highly-rated guy, but he hasn't played a down yet.

Knights a duel threat. I hope the coaches will allow him to do his thing.

Interesting that Scout lists his strength as accuracy and his weakness as speed. His completion % is rather lackluster the last two seasons, so maybe he has a bunch of butterfinger receivers. Watching his highlight reel, it would appear that speed is not a problem. Well, I mean he doesn't look fast, but he does appear to be elusive. Reminds me of Colt McCoy in that regard.

OU offense would be dang right scary if they had a dual threat QB... Even though Landry can run when he is scared to death... It is down right UGLY!!!

Yet you are right SoA he did have 1 run for positive yards and they were very important yards...

I really hope Kendall T improves and get bigger & stronger and gets a chance @ QB...The kid has some wheels...

I beleive Landry has around -250 rush yards for his career. He doesn't run the ball unless you can drive a truck through the hole and there aren't any defenders in the area. But who needs it. I'm extremely happy with what Landry has done already in his career here.

Very true. What matters is that the same school that picked Josh, Jason and Sammie want you. I might add Landry to that list someday. Having a coat and tie picked out to wear in New York is not too outlandish for an OU quarterback recruit :)

Got a buddy who went to Reagan and knows Knight a little bit. Couple of things:

1)There's a good chance he graduates early, and enrolls in the Spring of '12

2) I asked him to give me an evaluation and explain to me his low comp pct. This is what he said: "If anything I'd say look at his sophomore stats as opposed to his junior stats. First game he ever played as a sophomore was, to say the least, a disaster. Best I remember he threw something like 3 interceptions. This was on the eve of me going to China on study abroad so I missed that season. But the team ended up 8-2 and he was looking like a pretty bright shining star.

Now for the Junior season which, save for one game, I saw in its entirety. First 5 games were 4-1 and he looked pretty darn good. Deadly accurate from short to mid range and wasn't too bad on the deep ball. Injuries plagued the team heavily midway through the season. The running game disappeared so Trevor for the most part became the only offense we had. The line didn't provide great protection so his mobility had to be utilized. He isn't the fastest guy I've ever seen but once he's get going I've seen him break off some huge runs. His favorite wide receiver had injury issues as well as his tight-end who was almost always a sure completion.

Now I know I'm only saying this for a school that opened in 1999 but he is, without a doubt that best player I think that will have ever walked through that school. He has a cannon for an arm. I haven't seen many high schoolers, regularly, and with his ease, chuck as far down the field as he can do it.

Another thing that I think I'm most pleased with him is he has a truly great personality. He's got a good heart and I don't think he's got a bad bone in his body."

There ya go.

He will really come in handy if he need to kill some clock in the 4th Quarter.

He needs a lot of work IMO.

No better place than OU if he want's to compete in Div I though. Good call coming here IMO.

He is definetly no Gunner, but I trust our coaches and what they do. I mean this kid could be a Drew Allen not a Sammy B. He may be a perpetual backup or a Heisman winner. You never know and HS stats are speculative at best. Let's see what the kid can do. If he is uncapable I am sure we will find someone who is.

I'd like to see some RB/WR passes and that would be one way for Knight or Thompson to get on the field.
