I just am amazed they do Live Shows. For so long after 1975 Fagan and Becker didn't Tour and that was at the height of when I went to Concerts. My First Rock Concert on my own was Bad Companies first Album in 1974. I'd been with my Dad or other people's Parents before that but that was when I really had the chance to see a lot of Great Rock Legends. Steely Dan was one I missed.

I once saw Jackson Brown and David Lindley do an Acoustical set in Tulsa's Performing Arts Center. They were incredible and were one of the first Rock acts to be allowed in the Opera Setting of the PAC. It would have been cool to have seen SD in a setting like that back in the day.

Thought this thread would be worth peeking back into Soonerfans for...

I was at the show last night in the Brady. Great set, although they did not play my favorite song, Black Cow. Once again, top notch musical talent all over the place. Their drummer is unbelievable, their brass section is of course mesmerizing, and the guy in the coveted guitar slot was fantastic.

I knew I would be one of the younger people there ( I was born the year Aja was released), but let me just put it bluntly. I now know what it is like to attend a concert where the audience is fully made up of the same people at OU games that are always bitching about people standing up. Lots of half-hearted standing ovations after their big radio hits, and the only song people stood all the way through for was Reelin' in the years.

My last concert before this one was Rush at the BOK, and I knew it wasn't going to be quite as wild as that, but sheesh! Get up and dance Grandma!

That said, still glad I went.:D

I will be there with my lovely wife, my brother, and his wife. We're in the first row behind VIP on one of the corners if memory serves.

You'll probably never catch me playing 21 while having to pay a commission for the privilege to do so, that just ain't right and I don't need the action that bad. Over the long haul it's gonna be some kind of tough to outrun that little vig unless you're playing with nothing smaller than green chips.

Winstar does, however, have some pretty decent video poker odds if you check the pay tables carefully and choose your machine accordingly.

I thought it was a great concert. I predicted they would open with Aja. The sound was a little messed up in the beginning, but rapidly got better. I was hoping they would play Deacon Blues, but they did play a lot of their old hits.

As far as the casino goes, meh. There are way too many slot machines, and not nearly enough table games. Why is smoking still allowed anywhere indoors? The lines for the few restaurants and grills were long, but the $3.00 Nathan's hotdogs were good.

I would go back for a concert, but I would never go there just to gamble.

Agreed, great show. The mix of a first song is always weird since sound check is with an empty house... the room fills up and everything changes. But overall I gotta give FOH guy an "A" on the mix. Of course it helps to have bonafide superstar players at every position.

Although I was surprised that they didn't play one single cut from Two Against Nature, I'm not disappointed at all with the show. They definitely hit a majority of high points along with some nice surprises. The groove on "Home At Last" was positively spectacular and "Kid Charlemagne" was just plain smokin'.

Agreed again... if you didn't get in line by 6:30 or so for dinner you were pretty much out of luck. We opted for the Mongolian BBQ joint and it was good. As I said in a previous post there's some pretty decent vid poker games (better than anything around OKC) but otherwise I'm with you on the gaming action.
