@Jake_Trotter Jake Trotter
Hey, I have in fact left The Oklahoman to take a position with ESPN.com covering OU football. Very excited about it.

Interesting. I guess this means expanded coverage of OU by ESPN?

Well, we know that Oklahoma is trying to start their own TV network like UT, maybe this is a step toward a similar partnership to what Texas is getting from the Bristol Mafia.

It's a shot in the dark, but how many single teams get individual reporter treatment at ESPN?

Kudos to Jake-man. He did a fine job locally and now has the opportunity to spread the gospel nation-wide.

Always loved reading Jakes articles. He must have made some impression to get a gig at ESPN. Congrats to him.

my guess is that since the sooners are expected to win it this year, they may be putting extra coverage regardless....and they decided to go local for their angle. i'm sure i'm wrong on this, but jake's probably got a short term contract, and he hopes to parlay this into something bigger with ESPN. call it an internship of sorts...

I guess this frees up some money for an additional Cowboys beat reporter named Veeden or something.

He got put in time-out a while back. Not sure if that's over with or not.

A couple things he said were funny. ESPYs were pretty awful this year though. Which did you think was the worst part? I thought it was the stupid imitation Canadian couple making out.
