While you are there, if you are a golfer, go play Furry Creek. It's north of Vancouver and is worth the 20 min drive.

What's the temp up there? It's around 105 back here... and we have horns/pokes to deal with.

Victoria is a beautiful place. I wish I could retire there. I am very envious that you got to spend some time there while I'm stuck here suffering in all this darn heat.

I've been there twice, and it was kind of warm this time of the year (80's) in 2006. But in '86, it was in the 60's most of the time.

One thing I really liked about my first visit was going through Butchart Gardens, late in the day. I got a photo of some saiilboats docked in an inlet inside the park, and the water was just like a giant reflection. I also remember having some great fish and chips at a hotel coffee shop there.

Back in Seattle, been upper 60's all trip. Sunny. Love it. Hating the thought of returning to the über-kiln.

Trader Joe's tomorrow.

I lived in Seattle from '73 - '88. Went to Victoria/Vancouver just about every year. Beautiful scenery all around you. Yeah, the weather is cool and cloudy 90% of the time. When I first moved there, I thought it was paradise because I was so tired of the Oklahoma heat. But it didn't take long before I started missing the sunshine and warmer temps, and then the cost of living in Seattle began to go through the roof. I was glad when I moved away from there, but it's still a great place to vacation.

i was in Victoria and Butchert Gardens a couple years ago. Beautiful place. Victoria is almost like walking through Disney World, its so clean and perfect. it was in the 60s 2 years ago in July when we went. maybe 70s when the sun came out for a bit. and no horn gear to be found.

of course, I preferred my time downhill biking in Whistler a couple days later. ;)

This is from the last trip to Butchart Gardens - this was really nice when I was there in '86 at about 8 p.m. The low light and calm water made for a better shot than this one.

BTW, when I was there in '86 I found a B.C. Lions CFL exhibition game on the rental car radio. That was kind of odd, hearing about the "Lions' 53-yard line" and "singles." That was also when J.C. Watts was a star QB in Ottawa for their version of the Rough Riders.

Taking my wife to Victoria for her 50th BD in August. Figure we'll stay in Port Angles and do a day trip over on her birthday.

I can appreciate the "no whoren" aspect. I live in Tejas and am currently in San Diego for a few days for some personal business. It's quite refreshing not to run into those idjits.

This plan will likely get YOU a nice present.

They had a very late Spring there so all the Spring blooms are out. It was magnificent.
