It looks like Justin Timberlake may be trying to convert his role in The Social Network into something tangible.

The pop singer/actor (who portrayed the founder of Napster in the critically acclaimed film) enthusiastically announced yesterday that he would collaborating with California’s Specific Media to help revive MySpace after its gradual decline in popularity.

"There's a need for a place where fans can go to interact with their favorite entertainers, listen to music, watch videos, share and discover cool stuff and just connect,” Timberlake said to MTV. "MySpace has the potential to be that place. ... Art is inspired by people and vice versa, so there's a natural social component to entertainment.

As creative director, Justin plans to be the one to make things happen.

“I'm excited to help revitalize MySpace by using its social media platform to bring artists and fans together in one community," he continued.

And Specific Media co-founder Tim Vanderhook has faith that the idea can work. According to MTV, MySpace still has a decent traffic base. With that, the team plans on bringing the social network back to "what it was supposed to be originally." – Stephanie Long

Google+ is doing this a pretty smart way. By not allowing people in by saying servers are too full they are creating more buzz and hits for the site by people that keep checking to see if they can get in and join.
