Here is a totally hypothermial situation: If it was already predetermined that we were going to win our 8th National Championship. Let's say Jack Frost, Old Man Winter and Mr. Freeze have proclaimed 2011 our year. Who would you want to play and beat to win it?

I'd say Notre Dame or USC, because those series are so one-sided and we have loads of pay back due to them.

Miami is a similar choice, for those of us who were fans in the 80s.

If the NC game wasn't pre-decided, and I was just choosing the opponent for pure delight in the matchup, maximal buildup to the game itself, and for the pagentry and excitement surrounding such a contest -- I'd say Alabama.

I think I'm leaning toward LSU because I live down here. There fanbase doesn't exactly act like they've been there before, and I would love to beat them and Miles in their own backyard. And I don't want it to even be close.

This is also my early prediction for which teams make it to the title game.
