I can honestly say that I have never eaten dog meat.

If it was there already cooked I'd probably try it. No if me eating it determined whether a dog was going to live or going to die I would probably change my mind. But if it's going to be cooked anyways, no need to let it go to waste.

Sitting Bull created his own warrior society called the Midnight Eaters. They ate the choicest of the camp's dog meat.

Good times I'm sure were had by all.

Not as far as I know. When I worked in S. Korea we had a general agreement that if we were about to eat anything "strange" they would tell us first. My assistant knew this meant no dog, even though I tried a lot of other strange things.

I was going to eat a dolphin burger in Miami back in 08. I didn't get it though, not because I'm against that, but because it was twice as much as the bacon cheeseburger and I wasn't sure if it would suck, or was even made of dolphin for that matter. Seemed to me it should be illegal but I guess it's not.

Yes in Asia but I did not know it at the time. Also had monkey in South America.

This is what they probably were serving in Miami. One of the reasons I didn't want to spend the money. If I'm going to order dolphin I want the real thing.

I believe you are referring to Dauphin.

Most folks call it by its Hawaiian (I think) name...Mahi Mahi.

I've had Mahi Mahi and it sucks. Glad I didn't waste time on that burger then. I pretty sure it said Dolphin though.

And yes Mahi Mahi is Hawaiian.

On a trip to Japan we had been out drinking heavily and ended up at a little hole in the wall that the guys from our client frequented. They had mama-san bring out a little bowl of candied crickets.

Wanting to be a trooper I ate a couple...then realized nobody else was touching them.

They did not cook it correctly. It is a highly sought after game fish. They were not going to serve you flipper. That would violate a ton of laws.

That's mostly the point of me wanting to try it. Once in a lifetime chance....;)
