How does it help the bottom line for these multinational Corporations to obviously pander to Socialism and teh gayz??

Do they hold stock in Swiss home decorating firms?

I mean they are obviously ready to reduce our country to a homo loving welfare state...They must have an "in" with the guy that the illuminati will put in office 9 years from now.

Maybe that's it.

NPH for Prez in 2020, you heard it here first.

Because gays are the new jews?

This must be it.

I first got inkling when they decided to remake Conan the Barbarian. It was an idea obviously lacking in shrewdness but overflowing in oiled-abs.

Power and the money...honey and the power.

Like, academia, most journalists are leftists. If you can find a following regardless of political affiliation, then it sells.

Do you think there is a litmus test on a person's political beliefs before they are given jobs in journalism?

I think that most of the perceived problem comes from the opinion folks involved, not the journalists. This is quickly changing, though as there is definitely a different slant from different networks, even in news reporting. Do companies merely attract like-minded journalists, or are journalists bastardized by editors afterward.

I think that there are a lot of libs in journalism (and academia in general) because most money driven folk are not likely to entertain careers in these fields.

But Couric makes plenty just as Bill O' Reilly does.

I wouldn't call either of them journalists.

Maybe not O'Reilly, but Couric has done journalism.

what or who determines main stream? Doesn't Rush have the most listened to radio show? Isn't Fox news the most watched news on cable? Are the three oldest networks the main stream because they've been doing it longer? if so why is that? just wondering.

A young liberal out of college wants to 'change the world.'

A young conservative wants to make money.

That's all there is to it.

I don't know, Cynic.

I am using what most conservative pundits would define it as...pretty much everyone but FOX, and some spinoff bloggers.

You can do both.

and neither one is a bad choice imo

People like to be mad.
The people that watch news shows are often conservative. (liberals being too busy hugging trees and getting down with the gays to pay attention to important things)
The news media slants left to make people mad.
Mad people keep tuning in to get their daily dose.

In other words, u mad.

She's nothing more than a tv personality, and a **** poor one at that.

But you can think of her as a journalist if you like.

She did that whole colonoscopy thing, that was journalism. But largely, you are correct. I think that both actually started in Journalism though.

I saw Larry Fitz on ESPN this morning and reminded NP that Larry was probably the best player in college in 2003, but Jason White had a much better story and better stats.

I think that's why journalism is often given a LIBERAL label, because the best stories are not how the best player got the best award and then went on to be the best receiver in the NFL and made tons of money, the end.

No, the story was that Jason White suffered one of the most unendurable injuryies known to sports, the ACL, and then suffered the same injury on the other knee. Two ACLs, which would make most athletes quit (and we have learned since that Jason considered it) and nobody would question their quitting. Instead, Jason went out and threw touchdown after touchdown and brought his team to the brink of a national title (stupid Sugar Bowl and their stupid biased fanbase that gobbled up all of the stupid tickets in their stupid backyard).

I really think its the love of the underdog story, not political motivation, that gives media their LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL label.

And yes, journalists are not very highly paid. Rupert holds onto his money tightly. That's why he's a billionaire :P
