Myself and USAO run LandThieves. The name was my idea. I've never posted or lurked on Shaggy, USAO is active there though.
If we emulate anything it's /sp/ (a subforum of 4chan) and Sports Argument Stadium (a subforum of SomethingAwful).

Wow, I was at a game that everyone of those guys played (not all the same game) except Steve Owens (but Tinker was one of my frat brothers!).
SoonerTimes was the board I used to be on but it experienced an extended down time a few years back and I never returned after coming here.
I would post there if Stu weren't a mod.

It's certainly not a forum for everyone. If you find profanity and risqué images "inappropriate" there is no shortage of OU boards that provide a moderated environment that keeps the discussion to high(er) standards; SoonerFans being the prime example.
Having posted here since 2005 I do know it comes off as an "old boys club" to many potential members, this was one of the contributing factors to LT's success following the OUInsider exodus. I've also seen South Park and pop-culture references be so misunderstood here that they resulted in bannings, one of reasons I wanted to help start an OU forum with very different moderating philosophy and targeted to younger fans/students/alumni.

Those really only happen in the off season or in threads dedicated to US vs. Euro, and they're almost always jokes. I do wish that a few of them provided an epic meltdown before leaving. Speaking of, I think I will leave now. Why, you ask?
Just to be clear. After a year of mostly positive experience, in which I had decided to become an Elite Sponsor, I started the Hollis Board, I had a 46,000 spek rating based on real spek not betting over two season and 1500 posts, in the last four weeks I can see this board is a place I don't want to be or patronize. There are two other boards which I believe have at least equivalent football knowledge without the abusive environment. I am taking my business elsewhere.

Soonerfans is probably the best. It likely has the highest percentage of alumni posting (like myself, class of 2003 Mechanical Engineering).
I like how you need a legit email account to sign up here, not just a free yahoo, gmail, or hotmail account. This probably weeds out a lot of trolls that just want to cause trouble.
IMO, Landthieves has too many inappropriate images of women all over the place, which is really distracting. I mean, who posts that kind of crap anyway (other than congressman apparently). Would you really want your Mom, Daughter, etc., seeing that? I don't.
OUInsider was really good at one point, like 3-4 years ago, but the free boards were run into the ground. It is basically a Rivals.com clone now, where the only decent board is the pay board.

LandThieves came about cause I posted on ShaggyBevo for over a year & built a good rep up without being a troll mostly in the non sports forms. When the OUI junk game up I posted about wanting to create a more liberal board. The Creator of Shaggy is a IT guy & he helped me out with hosting
LandThieves name game from one of the first threads on the board, mostly cause we were tired of hearing it used negatively. Be proud to be a Sooner, be proud to be a LandThief
Anyway I got no problems with the Posse. I post every where getting away from my board sometimes is a relief
Anyway if we can handle Stu we can handle anyone. So if you ban a poor soul send him out way

This board is moderated as is so that it won't become a blocked/banned site at the work place. That was a decision made by the owner of the board and supported by them members of the board.
As far as profanity and risque images well, eh, they don't offend me, but then again, depending on certain situations, some times it's just plan boring.

You know how every so often I'll recycle a joke from a season or two or five ago (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3265058#post3265058) and all of the newer people laugh like they've never laughed before because they never heard said joke before?
That is what it is like to visit a different Sooner message board. People that aren't tired of your act yet (assuming people have grown tired of you) don't realize how much of a pain you and your bi-weekly polls (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155407) and attempts to get people to care about womens basketball (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141963) are to deal with.
I know man, I've been there. I decided to lurk at ouhoops one day and was like I'm gonna repost the Baylor jokes (http://ouhoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19294) and see what happens. They clearly are lacking the farkage over there :P
So, what's this thread about? To each their own. And when your first audience gets sick of you, remember that there are other audiences out there. And they'd appreciate you a lot more than the site that just banned you, if for no other reason than it's difficult to appreciate what you are disallowed from posting.

When that one person has already turned one well known and respected site into a Malware delivery vehicle, is primarily interested in collecting personal data, and has easy access to the controls of this new site, I'd say yeah, it's probable safe to stay away.

You know how every so often I'll recycle a joke from a season or two or five ago (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3265058#post3265058) and all of the newer people laugh like they've never laughed before because they never heard said joke before?
That is what it is like to visit a different Sooner message board. People that aren't tired of your act yet (assuming people have grown tired of you) don't realize how much of a pain you and your bi-weekly polls (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155407) and attempts to get people to care about womens basketball (http://www.soonerfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141963) are to deal with.
