There is no better place on earth. It occurred to me that we pay lip service to this concept, but it's a fact. We set around and bitch. Well I'm taking all comers. Try to name a country that does it better.

We're busy right now trying to emulate others. I'm not trying to give a come to Jesus speech. I just feel like laying out the reasons...

And yet, a man such as myself, who lacked the ambition to make a cultural impact, pioneer a ground breaking medical procedure, or invent the hula hoop, has a sweet life.

I am but a cog in the machine, yet I am a god. Also, if I ever feel like chasing a dream, I totally could.

We are really good at thinking out of the box and dreaming up the next big things....

We are risk takers...which helps fuel the next big thing....but that risk can also cause problems if the next big thing ain't the next big thing....

America is a good country and I would even go as far to say that it is one of the better ones, but such thing as the "Best Country" could never be determined. I honestly don't know how serious you are with this though...so yeah. :pop:

That's the great part about living in the greatest nation on earth. You can joke about it, and eventually, everybody realizes it's true. Then you win without breaking a sweat.

Probably what distinguishes the U.S. most is the upward mobility thing. In so many other countries if you are born poor it is much more difficult to dig your way out of it. Not that it's easy here, but in other countries one's station in life is often determined at birth.

I think Natty is made in Belgium now.

It's still brewed stateside, but the parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev is a Belgian-Brazilian conglomerate with its HQ in Leuven, Belgium.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anheuser-Busch_InBev

So when you drink a Bud (or one of 200 other brands, many that are considered "American" beers) you are for all intents and purposes drinking a euro beer. In other words, it's a bit like driving a Toyota. Sure it's made here, but it's not really American.

MillerCoors http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miller_Coors and Pabst Brewing Company http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pabst_Brewing_Company on the other hand, are still HQ in the good ole USA, so grab an ice cold Miller High Life, PBR or Old Milwaukee this 4th of July and be proud to support our country in true American patriot style!

Better yet, grab a microbrew, and support American small business, and the American spirit of individualism.

America is the biggest military power in the history of mankind, and in its zenith, it was the greatest superpower/empire in the history of mankind, its power is diminished a bit as of late, but still remains as the sole superpower in the world. It is the most influential country in world affairs, world geopolitics, and world economy, unlike anything ever seen before.

It destroyed its biggest rival without ever firing a shot, or a missile.
