I'm impressed the cat make the gator back down. Maybe the gator wasn't hungry.

So these people aren't bothered being within 5 feet of gators, their young son being within 5 feet of gators, and their pets playing with gators. Wtf am I missing here?

It seems to me that flip flops are not the best footwear option when in close proximity to alligators on a rocky surface. So there's another discrepancy.

Flip flops are not a good footwear option for potential fight or flight situations IMO. Call me crazy. When the Marines storm the beach they aren't wearing flip flops if you know what I mean.

That cat should have been named Amos Moses.

Those gators probably haven't had to chase a meal in years...they can lay sunning on the beach and humans will feed em bite size scraps...

I would consider these gators as on the edge pit bulls...

That these people aren't scared of the gators.

vet, maybe you need a cat. seems they are tougher than a gator anyway.

As if the one gator wasn't enough, the gator briefly going under then returning with a friend would send me right over the edge. I would either jump in the car and not stop driving until I reached the state line or have myself an awesome pair of boots the next day.

Well if I ever do get another Timmy T he wont be mentioned on line anywhere;)

The cat I've had the longest is inside, I called her Welfare mom for awhile when she had all those babies and then laid around and expected me to feed all of em.:D

Now shes back to Firecracker( shes a Black cat ya see)

the other is a stray that showed up a month er so ago and decided I need to be feeding her to. I just call her "Ole Yeller" she stays O/S

That cat seems to be saying, "I told you NOT to come out of the water!"

It does seem kind of odd that the adult wasn't concerned about the safety of the kids or the cats.

Gators are very docile animals. Crocs, different story.

I live next to the Buffalo Bayou in the Memorial area of West Houston. We had a problem with (what the police and media thought) a dog-napper stealing expensive pets tied up in back yards leading to the Bayou. TV stations had live remotes from some of these back yards during the evening broadcast warning people about the dog-napper.

Then, a few days later, 1/2 of a dog was found in one of the back yards. Police finally realized it was a hungry gator nabbing the pet dogs, not a dog-napper.

Now, all of the houses that back up along the Buffalo Bayou have tall fences.
