I was watching "I Survived" on Biography Channel and some of those stories make me wonder about our race. Just when I think a person can't go someplace, they go there.

There are many stories but the worst one, I think, was a woman working at her church, with her two children, both around five years old. A man kidnaps them, drives them off away from the city, rapes the mother in front of the children for several hours, sexually assaults the children, takes them back to the city to get some money from her account, rapes her again in a park, takes them back to the church, and at the end asks the children, "Should I kill your mommy?" as he fiddles with the knife around the woman's throat. He just up and left at the end surprisingly. It took the police several months to find him. He came from a nice middle class family with no criminal record. His father was a deacon at the church at which this woman was kidnapped at.

There was another story where a guy raped a woman, threw her in the trunk of his car, put gasoline over her, and set her on fire.

Another guy liked to walk around the Appalachian Mountains, came upon two friends camping, and shot them in cold blood. He never said anything to them, just came up to them, pulled a gun out, and shot at them. When the police caught him they found glasses, women's panties, and all sorts of things he kept as "souvenirs" from his victims. They had no idea just how many he killed.

How can a person do such things to another human? I mean you can say, "they have a screw loose" but how? I think it takes more than a loose screw to do those things. How does somebody rape a mother and her children, threaten to kill them, turn around to their family later that day, and act like nothing is wrong?

Why are there such animals, such predators, growing up in society that we never seem to know about? Like I said, that one guy's father was a deacon at the church and had a normal life as far as the police report went. What happened?

Well, the normal reaction after the fact would be to look at the parents. You never know what happens behind closed doors, and even though he was a preacher's son, doesn't mean something didn't happen to do this too him.

Although, it could be genetics possibly. Trillions of combinations when a aby is conceived as to how it will turn out. At least a few of them have to be crazy beforehand, maybe.

I couldn't even read all that you wrote. I can't even imagine watching a re-enactment on TV. I would be pounding on the remote to get it off that.

My former boss, who served twice as Thailand's prime minister (both times appointed after some political "accident"), described politicians as "animals". He said in no uncertain terms that they are blissfully unaware of everything around them except for the feeding trough in front of them.

So yeah, we got our fair share of those.

If you listen to old guys, never touch the sauce. Seriously just don't. Study hard and do well in school and the payoff is pretty substantial in terms of scholarships. That is literally money in the bank or the flip side of money out of the bank if your parents are paying your university tuition or you have to take out student loans and pay back over XX number of years. The girls can wait. Get the scholarship, get the job and then go get that trophy wife.

If you want to go down this road, we can throw Christianity in there as the cause.
