Here is some interesting trivia for you. The head coach of the Cajuns at the time was the late Nelson Stokely, Brandon Stokely's dad. Also, Brandon and Jake Delhomme were on this team in 1996.

That stadium is rather small and fills about half on a better week. 38,783 is a lot for a Cajun game. :P

I remember watching that game on TV. I think they replayed at like 2am in the morning that night too. Back when I lived in Weatherford, OK. Good times

Stokley did a lot with so little. Ol Mack could take lessons from him. He is the only coach to ever lead UL Lafayette to a plus .500 (which he did several times), and a few conference championships. He has also sent about four times more players to the NFL than any other coach at UL combined. He did a hell of a job in a "if-you-arn't-LSU-****-you" state.



What does this have to do with sooner football? Absolutely nothing. But I revel in vanquished aggies, especially to a team that has had about 4 winning seasons in its 80 year career. :D
