Peter Falk, the legendary actor who graced both big screen and small over a fifty-year career but will perhaps best be remembered for his Emmy-winning role as the shabby-dressed, wisecracking homicide detective on TV's Columbo, has died from Alzheimer's disease. He was 83.

Falk had been suffering from the mind-sapping condition since 2007 after a series of dental surgeries and the dimentia had grown to such a point that his daughter, Catherine Falk, sought to be appointed his guardian in 2009. However in a conservatorship trial, a judge appointed that duty to his wife, Shera Danese Falk.

lol - greatness - the scene when they are trying to escape the chase in the market, and Falk gets in the driver's seat - and starts adjusting the mirrors before speeding away - all while under gunfire

funny stuff

i liked Mannix.

showed the draw bridge on the Terminal Island freeway in the intro.

as an aside, my 1st wife worked for Star-kist tuna on terminal island.no,
not in the cannery.

i liked Columbo. we did the Universal Studio tour, way back when it was just the studio.

the little car (don't remember what kind, euro-junk) that Columbo drove in the show was on a parking lot, inside.

My 2nd wife & i live about a mile north of Universal on Cahuenga, for part of 70 & 71.

really liked "Rockford" !! he was such a lovable loser. always getting his *** kicked & hardly ever got paid.

liked "Cannon", but william conrad was too fat to be an "action hero".

Barnaby was good, who could not like Buddy Ebsen ??

listened to a Rams game in about 73 or 75, (in LA on vacation) Freddie
got 2 safeties. may be a record.

That was the first episode of Barnaby Jones. I saw it recently. Its available on Netflix. Frank Canon made a soufle. He offered to share it with Hal Jones because Hal was going to come over to confide about something that was on his mind regarding a case he'd been working. If memory serves Frank was able to eat all the soufle.

Because Hal was dead.
