It's really weird that in Tulsa it's pop and in OKC it's coke.

BTW, it's pop. Because of that, Tulsa > OKC.

"what kinda coke y'all want?"
"Dr pepper"

When you break it down kinda seems strange but that's just the way it is.

Only an idiot calls it "coke."

"What would you like to drink?"
"Coke."
"Alright, what kind?"
"Pepsi."

As for the other names, it's easy, pop. Why? I don't use extra syllables unless I have to. Those who say, "soda" are just overworking themselves and using up more air than they should.

Pop.

Regular Coke when I ask for it. Usually get a reply of "Will Pepsi be OK?".

Diet drinks are horrible and are for FAT PEOPLE to make them OBESE. :)

I'm not sure I've ever really heard someone say POP on its own. I've heard Soda Pop...but most folks I know just say Coke for everything, or get me a Soda.

Pop is your dad or Grandpa, not a drink :)

Soft drink.

This is what you hear in Tulsa, not soda. Well, maybe the midtown dbags say Soda but all the real Americans say softdrink.

Out in W OK where I am from, its Coke.

When a person uses the universal "coke", they sound like a :texan: .

Pop is the best label. "sodey pop" sounds like someone from back in the hills, imo.... NTTAWWT... :)

the simple "soda" reminds me of some kid from Cascia Hall.....

I'm am not calling it coke unless it is a coke. If it is a pepsi I will call it a pepsi. Shouldn't be any confusion here. If I called it something in general, I would call it a soda. Again, I don't drink the stuff anyways so it doesn't really matter to me.

I lived in eastern OK from birth til 18, then Norman til 23, both places it was coke. Only my cousin's other cousin from Iowa said "pop" in that Hillary Clinton flat vowel accent. Yuck.

In Norman, we even had "coke dates". At Classic 50's. Where I would have diet Dr. Pepper with their special vanilla and cherry add-ins. Yum. And no, I'm not 80. Now get off my lawn.
