For example....

1984.

Washington beat Oklahoma what was to be believed for the national title. Florida was #1 for much of the 84 season until they were put on probation right away for the use of an ineligible player.

1985

Miami beat Oklahoma. Tennessee killed Miami, 35-7. Tennessee finished the season (8-2-2). Tennessee was better than their record.

Some of the teams/matchups mentioned were teams who didn't win the title but were NC contenders late such as Kansas State and UCLA in 1998.

Or how about '04 Auburn vs OU since USC shouldn't have been there?

Auburn would have been much tougher against USC than we were due to different match-ups (they had 2 lock down corners). But we were a much better match-up against Auburn than USC because they didn't have an explosive offense.

OU 24-20 The game is tight all the way and AD takes over in the 4th when defenses start getting fatigued.
