You eat your steak medium well and you call yourself a Sooner? I've never heard of a true Sooner intentionally burning a perfectly good piece of steak like that, unless it happen to be bevo.

Some people like a ribeye to taste like round steak?

medium well = The meat is light pink surrounding the center.

properly marinaded - and cooked right - this is an extremely tasty option

if you dont like it.......well, too bad!

Medium well, eh? Do you also ask for ketchup with your steak when you're at a restaurant?

Every second a steak cooks beyond rare is literally removing flavor.

I can't do rare. I like a medium rare "plus", ideally

Chalk me up for another medium well steak eater. I can do without blood on/in my steak.

And as far as removing flavor or burning it, you aren't going to the right steak restaurants.

The steak restaurants I go to won't cook a steak past medium.

not sure what's worse, marinating a steak or cooking it medium well

It really depends on the cut of meat. Certain cuts are ideally cooked rare with a nice sear. Others are more appropriately cooked to medium rare. A good chef can tell you the ideal temp for a given cut of meat.

Seriously, who eats dog? Medium to Medium Well is acceptable, as long as you have the band of pink.

A steak should require two things and two things only: kosher salt, cracked black pepper. The end. If you want to add some butter to the equation, I'll let it slide.

Medium well, but I will occasionally eat medium if it has grilled mushrooms. That way I can get the mushroom sauce on there and cover up the pink.

Wave a Bic lighter under mine for a minute or two and it will be just about right...

I think the lesson here is that only the cook's opinion matters. Guests at parties & stuff need to eat whatever's in front of them and be damn grateful for it! Zat right?
