Maybe it's the low quality picture, but that looks nasty. What food is that?

Polo Grill beats that place like an unwanted stepchild.

Something more than an ugly *** tarp covering the window.

After dinner I went into one the private rooms. I think the view is awesome.

I grew up at the Polo Grill. It's OK.

We had a free meal coupon from the Casino for LaCucino or McGills at 19. I think it's over priced but it's priced just right when the Casino picks up your Wife's meal and you walkout with $1625.00 in your pocket. Matter of fact...I don't think I've ever walked out of any other eatery except for the Buffet at Atlantis in the Bahamas. We won some cash there after eating one afternoon on our stop there when we went on a Royal Caribean Cruise. That was almost enough to pay for another Cruise.

Good times.

Whats your favorite steakhouse in this area? Polo is the best I've had, though I've only been here for five years.

Oh yeah. On the casino money. The Wife got a Casino Card and I got $20 on mine from the promotion. I got the $20 up to $90 and was almost broke when I hit the $1400. I cashed that out and we both played on $100 each and we both together walked out with $1625.00 total. I intentionally took only $25 so we would quit gambling and go listen to the band if we didn't win.

I hate that place when I lose but last night it was a pretty cool place for some reason. :D. Also....they have done something to help keep the smoke levels down a bunch. I can't usually stand to be there for more than an hour usually. They have also put in a good size No Smoking area to gamble in too. I'd forgotten that the old part of the Casino had collapsed and is closed.

Nobody does steak I like anymore and I grill my own and I buy them from the Meat Market at 15th and Harvard or Reasors if I'm in a hurry. When I eat out I usually have pasta or fresh fish.

Mahogany's is OK but even they and McGills charge to much for beef, so I don't buy steak when I'm out. The next time I do....I might try Molly's Landing again as a friend told me they have turned things around a bit there.

I used to buy beef from Hanovers or Perrys butcher shop but they just did seem any better than Reasors to me so I quit going to them.

The Polo Grill is definitely one of the 5 best restaurants in Tulsa. Probably not the best steakhouse, but a true gem of a restaurant. No other wine list in the state comes close and the menu is a great mix of long time standards and fresh new stuff.

LOL. I was there once too. I almost always feel like my own steaks are better. I used to order stuff I don't/can't make at home. I don't know why I went back to ordering steaks again. You just reinspired me.:D

Gonna fire the cranker later on today and BBQ a couple of tri-tips. good stuff.

Probably the best thing I liked was when I made the reservation they asked if it was a special occasion. It was and when we arrived and throughout the meal they treated it as such. The wine list, as you mentioned, was great as well.

The dish I posted was the "Halibut Creole Style". I s/w the guy running the place and he says the chef has worked a deal where all the fish is less than 24 hours off the boat. That's about as fresh as you can get in the middle of The US. I have to tell ya....it was really good. They treated us very nice but is it worth $31? That's pretty steep. The Wife had the "Coconut Panko Collosal Shrimp" and she shared one with me. They were also pretty good and colossal...yeah they were the largest and most tender Shrimp I've had in awhile. At $29....it's also a bit steep but if you need a nice meal and some place different for a special occasion....I'd eat there again. That place at River Spirit? They are crazy if they think anyone is gonna pay that much for ****ty food ****ty service and you can't get cell service there in case you are on call or need to be reached. I've eaten there twice. Once I wanted to try it and the 2nd time a friend of mine had won a bundle and wanted to eat so he dragged me in there even though I told him McGills at 61st and Yale was a short car ride or we could have gone to the Riverwalk in Jenks. After we ate...he said he'd never no take my advice again. I took him to McGills for Lunch a month after that and he enjoyed himself. I'm betting he'll need to be 12 sheets to the wind to eat at River Spirit again.

Hell I was pretty wary about McGills at Hard Rock as the old one sucked bad that was downstairs where LaCucina is now.
