It's funny how you can call Obama everything in the book but take such offense to people calling Palin anything.

Isn't it?

It's also funny how people on this forum have called Palin a "c*nt" with no backlash yet Obama's names, like him being a Marxist/Socialist, aren't as bad and actually based on truth regarding his background?

Isn't it funny how somebody not in politics has their e-mails dug through (http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theticket/20110610/ts_yblog_theticket/sarah-palin-emails-mostly-confirm-what-was-already-known-about-the-ex-governor) yet our politicians don't receive the same scrutiny unless they sent photos of their penis to, possible, underage girls (http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theticket/20110610/ts_yblog_theticket/anthony-weiner-admits-he-sent-messages-to-teenage-girl-but-denies-wrongdoing)?

Isn't it funny how Bush's college transcripts were leaked and Palin's college career was dug up but we don't need to see Obama's transcripts or any of his records?
Isn't it even funnier that Obama signed Presidential Order 13489 which keeps the public from viewing his records and nobody in the press seems to not have a problem with it?

Isn't it funny that there is outcry about Palin's clothes yet the First Lady didn't receive the same criticism?

Isn't it funny that within 24 hours of a possible congressman's assassination the only thing the talking heads of the media can come up with is that Palin possibly helped out in it?

It's it funny how there are multiple threads on Palin, a celebrity and nothing more, yet a thread on Obama that actually deals with this country's foreign policy is locked?

Isn't it funny that this still isn't some sort of fear or warped obsession?

I think it is funny that Obama is a Marxist/Socialist..yet keeps propping up the most capitalist part of America in Wall Street. Oh btw, those Palin e-mails were requested through the Freedom of Information act in 2007...They got released this WEEK. If someone filed for Obama's stuff, you could probably see it in 4 years as well. And don't act like the worst thing Obama has been called is Socialist. If you choose to become a millionaire off of being in politics...then don't whine about people taking shots at you. If Mitt Romney wins the nomination...the less watched "Mainstream media" will attack him for bankrupting companies in order to get rich. When Obama runs..Hannity (who has a much broader audience than the "mainstream media") will be running super secret reports about him again. Don't act like Obama hasn't been called everything from Nigerian, Muslim, to countless other names. I mean why say he isn't a US citizen when you can just say his policies are stupid and not helping the country get towards any meaningful solutions. I mean why say Palin is a c*nt, when you can say that everything she says she would do wouldn't get done because Congress would never go along with it. The Republicans are only fiscally responsible when they have no power. The Democrats are only anti-war when they have no power.... The problem isn't Palin or Obama...it is that we continuously re-elect ******* millionaires that have no basic concept of responsibility or pride in doing a job well. My solution is to have Congress replace those "illegals" at these farms and have them work their *** off while in "recess" of congress...and then let's see if they want to pay 1.5 million dollars to see endurance of sick shrimp...

"i like how Palin is wearing a Star of David in the Guardian pic.

It was mistakenly posted in another(the wrong) thread. Hey, what right does Palin have to wear what she wants to wear, anyway? This is the transformed America, and we now have an obligation to support Muslim extremists, as in Libya. Israel shouldn't exist, anyway.

So let me get this straight...shipping millions of dollars to Israel every year so they can protect themselves is fiscally responsible. However, helping people who are being slaughtered by a despot is supporting Muslim extremism. How about this ****. Israel and Libya can both put on their big boy pants...just like Pakistan and a few other and take care of themselves. So RLIMC, quit being a Socialist and let Israel stand on her own very two proud feet.

Was there any mention of the warts in the emails?

No, only this one concerning an unborn child, which the libs usually liken to a wart:

In April 2008, two weeks before Trig was born with Down's Syndrome, Mrs Palin sent the email to her friends and family from her official government account. In the touching message, Mrs Palin writes from the voice of God, as 'Trig's creator, your heavenly father':

To the Sisters, Brother, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends of Trig Paxson Van Palin (or whatever you end up naming him!):

I am blessing you with this surprise baby because I only want the best for you. I've heard your prayers that this baby will be the happy and healthy, and I've answered them because I only want the best for you!

I heard your heart when you hinted that another boy would fit best into the Palin family, to round it out and complete that starting five line-up. Though another girl would be so nice, you didn't think you could ask for what you really wanted, but I knew so I gave you a boy.

Then, I put the idea in your hearts that his name should be "Trig," because it's so fitting, with two Norse meanings: "True and "Brave Victory" ...

Then, finally, I let Trig's mom and dad find out before he was born that this little boy will truly be a GIFT. They were told in early tests that Trig may provide more challenges, and more joy, than what they ever may have imagined or ever asked for. At first the news seemed unreal and sad and confusing. But I gave Trig's mom and dad lots of time to think about it because they needed to understand that everything will be OK. ...

This new person in your life can help everyone put things in perspective and bind {you} together and get everyone focused on what really matters. The baby will expand your world and let you see and feel things you haven't experienced yet. He'll show you what "true, brave victory" really means as those who love him will think less about self and focus less on what the world tells you is "normal" or "perfect."...

Trig will be his dad's little buddy and he'll wear Carhartts while he learns to tinker in the garage. He'll love to be read to, he'll want to play goalie, and he'll steal mom's heart just like Track, Bristol, Willow, and Piper did. And Trig will be the cuddly, innocent dependent little brother that his siblings have been waiting for... in fact Trig will - in some diagnostic ways - always be a mischievous, dependent little brother, because I created him a bit different than a lot of babies born into this world today.

Every child is created special, with awesome purpose and amazing potential. Children are the most precious and promising ingredient in this mixed-up world you live in down there on earth. Trig is no different, except he has an extra chromosome. Doctors call it "Down syndrome," and Downs kids have challenges, but can bring you much delight and more love than you can ever imagine! ...

Trig's mom and dad don't want people to focus on the baby's extra chomosome. They're human, so they haven't known how to explain this to people who are caring and are interested in this new little Alaskan. ... Some will think Trig should not be allowed to be born because they fear a Downs child won't be considered "perfect" in your world. ...

Many people will express sympathy, but you don't want or need that, because Trig will be a joy. You will have to trust me on this.

I know it will take time to grasp this and come to accept that I only want the best for you, and I only give my best. Remember though: "my ways are not your ways, my thoughts are not your thoughts... for as heavens are higher than earth, my ways are higher than yours!"

I wrote that all down for you in the Good Book! Look it up! You claim that you believe me - now it's time to live out that belief!

Trig can't wait to meet you. I'm giving you ONLY THE BEST!

Love, Trig's Creator, Your Heavenly Father

I thought you like to call yourself a moderate.

It's common knowledge that libs prefer to see the unborn as a piece of tissue, which is as dehumanizing as calling it a wart or a growth.

And BTW, this note wasn't publicized by Palin, it was revealed only during the rush to find dirt on her in the recently released e-mails over which such responsible icons of journalism as the NYT and WaPo are falling all over themselves to investigate. This was a personal note to family and close friends.

Your attempt to paint it as you do is pathetic, and further evidence that your hatred of 1) conservatives, 2) Christians that actually believe in what Jesus preached, and especially 3) Palin has clearly driven you to the chronic derangement stage. gaffer would be proud of you.

I know what He said about money, and I can assure you that He didn't preach that Rome should confiscate all of a man's earnings above 17 shekels and give it to the poor. He cared about the poor and the outcasts, and he wanted men's hearts to change, but I fail to see where that included having the government punish one's sweat and toil and industry.

And incidentally, if libs are so much more compassionate, then why doesn't it show in their charitable contributions? Studies prove that those "wacky right-wingers" give far more of their money - as well as their time as volunteers - to charitable causes.

Tito, there is no need to go where you went in the first paragraph. We do not know what the President thinks, we know that congregations generally are varied in spectrum and very few hold 100% to the beliefs of their pastor, and even Rev. Wright would not go as far as claiming to be the voice of God.

It doesn't matter who it was written to...if my sister wrote me an email like this, I would recommend she seek therapy.

Anyone who would sit in such a church and under such a pastor for most of his adult life deserves far more scrutiny than was given our president.

And it does matter to whom it was written. You don't have clue one as to how their family interacts, how they speak about their faith, and certainly not one clue as to how they reacted to it.

I see birth announcements written as if they were from the newborn's 3-year-old sibling. Should those parents seek therapy?

Amazing how some people want to take a letter affirming the preciousness of life, evidently written at a time of great vulnerability and mixed emotions, and attack the messenger.

I mean, Profit assumes that I have no problem with child molestation, you seem hellbent on believing that anyone who writes the message that Palin wrote has to be under the delusion that she is penning words directly from Him, instead of the much more believable and acceptable explanation that she chose to break the news to her loved ones by expressing how precious Trig's life is in the eyes of his Maker, as if he were writing the letter himself.

While I am an elder of a church, I am not Jesus..

I also have never seen where Jesus has anything to say about calling someone dickbreath, little prick, spermbreath, etc. His rhetoric, as I recall, could get interesting when provoked. You have made it a point to search me out to provoke me.

Why are you so surprised at my reaction to child molesters. I certainly never said I was tolerant of child molesters, or organized religions who make it their practice to coddle and protect child molesters. Many times, on this board, I have stated that I don't like to use the word hate. I draw that personal line at child molesters. I hate, detest, despise and abhor any one that would molest a child, or support those, who would molest a child.

Since I'm out of attack-dog mode (for the moment), I ought to add that even though I like her personally, I confess to having experienced "Sarah-fatigue" over the past year. I've tired of reading about her latest facebook proclamations over such things as the First Lady's recent push on fitness for kids. I don't agree with her attacks on other GOP candidates who have had the courage to toss their hat into the ring for 2012. There are things about her that I don't defend - of course I'm the one who brought up the reason for today's lively debate, and I am defending her on that topic.

I honestly don't know what type of president she would be, but that's probably more honest than being completely convinced of either her fitness or unfitness. I'd personally like to see voters in this country try to look beyond whoever is the best-looking or most charismatic candidate, and base their decisions on a sober evaluation of the issues and challenges that we face, and the avenues available to address them (for which, btw, Profit and others on here have shown considerable depth and thought concerning various topics).

But I'm not at all offended by the e-mail she sent out concerning Trig and his Down's Syndrome. How devastating it must have been to learn that he would be born with it; but I'll bet he is really a joy in the Palin family's lives. I found the e-mail to be loving and actually kind of charming.

There's an interesting study of the brain that suggests that a believer's concept of God is a projection of their own image of self. Opinions and view's held by the believer are attributed to God.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn18216-dear-god-please-confirm-what-i-already-believe.html

Here we have Sarah writing "in God's voice" in her e-mail. I understand she is not intending to be literal. What she does mean literally is her frequent references to her vision and version of God who "speaks to her".

If my public servant believes that the creator of the universe talks to them personally I would rather they keep that to themselves. But for some reason it is deemed humble and laudable that someone professes that they have a personal connection with this all powerful creator of the universe and can even speak for "him".

There's an interesting study of the brain that suggests that a believer's concept of God is a projection of their own image of self. Opinions and view's held by the believer are attributed to God.

Reasonable enough.

Fair enough. I just had to ask because there was a level of contempt regarding some far fetched bible tales. I understand that she brings it out in people, having been deemed the lightening rod for political fury by the media.

I never understood the anger and hatred atheists and others have for the religious. Bill Marr comes to mind...what an angry little man.

The problem is that most "rational folks" thought it looked like a tragedy long before a young doe eyed Socialist Marxist Kenyan Obama took over. This country has been in trouble a long time. Since our government started acting like they had a Platinum Visa card that they never had to pay off was about the time they started to veer off the road. Obama is a problem...so was Bush..So is Pelosi..so is Boehner..so is Palin..so is Harry Reid...so is insert almost every politician not named Paul or Coburn. Those guys were labeled as loons and crazies when they said our current system could not be upheld. Now they look fairly sharp...

That deserves major spek. I'm so not worthy, all I have to put up with are Pokes, and they usually disappear after bed-lam.

I also have never seen where Jesus has anything to say about calling someone dickbreath, little prick, spermbreath, etc.

Lol. Yes, indeed Jesus would have gone around spewing hate to people he disagreed with on politics and religion, put words in their mouths, and called them spermbreath.

Everytime you call people names, say all sorts of nasty things, imply violence, somehow accuse other people of provoking you, and then somehow quote scripture just demonstrates yet again how big of a hypocrite you are.

Fortunately I won't have to read anymore of it. I finally had to ignore 2121sooner and I guess he kept it up and seems like he got permabaned. Hopefully the streak stays alive.

Oh, so you take credit for 2121's permaban. You really are full of yourself. Please go and chat with someone who gives a damn. I certainly don't.

1)Why don't you think she is qualified? She was an effective governor(ie a leader, as opposed to someone who is just a senator) She espouses just about everything any conservative wants in a leader.
2)She scares the HOLY SHI* out of all on the left, due to the fact they think she has a chance to win. If you don't want to be honest about that, I can't help you.

What apparently bugs them the most, is that no matter how hard they try to destroy her, the job still hasn't been completed. Remember how easy it was for Dan Quayle, Robert Bork, George Allen, Scooter Libby...ah, they should all fall that easy, huh?

She was a Governor for 18 months who quit after defending her ethical issues became a burden and the bright lights of the national spotlight became difficult for her to resist. The fact that her husband told supporters to "hold their powder" during the 2008 election says all I need to know about their ethics.

I'd LOVE her to be the GOP nominee.

She's so shallow that's it's a sad statement of where we've come to in this country.

:D. You're a little late to the game, but I welcome you just the same. The only person I've had on Iggy longer than "profit" is Lerpy. If the lizard ever comes back, I might take him off for a week, for novelty sake.

Plug in your memory prod and remember that the leftist machine had her totally occupied with law suits after the 2008 election. I know you prefer not to think that was significant, but hey, it's the Left's MO.

Oh, give me a break. She has lawyers to take care of that crap, and if she wouldn't have used her office to launch personal vendettas, take family vacations, decorate her house, etc., she would have had no problems. The woman is a sham, con artist and quitter. I am just amazed that there are enough stupid people around that buy her books and attend her speeches to make her rich. But, then again, Paris Hilton makes a living by being dumb, too.
