I would say pretty typical, that is it was enjoyable.
Coale was terrific in all ways. ;) Even her autograph is sexy.
Tress Way is a very well-spoken young man. He spoke about the chapel service they have before each game. Often a guest speaker will use a David versus Goliath portrayal... "Some of the players, well, we decided we didn't like that too much. Face it... we're the Goliath when we take the field. We need to be Goliath 2.0 and learn from his mistakes!" Tress mentioned how they say a prayer before every workout; that they exhibit the same work ethic and gusto as Austin Box. He did speak about Box quite a bit.
Toby did a fine job as emcee.
Bob was upbeat and confident. "We expect to win the Big XII and win the National Championship." -spoken in a matter-of-fact way.
On Pressure: "aw, these reporters, you know, they ask about do I feel extra pressure being ranked number one. Sherri, Lon, all of us, nobody puts more pressure on ourselves than us. We expect to win every game."
"We (coaches) don't get to have contact with our players during the summer. Whether we achieve our goals depends very much on the preparation the fellows are doing right now. If you see our guys on the beach or rafting down some river, then they're not doing what needs to be done to get ready for the season."
When he finished the stump speech, the opportunity was given to ask questions. First question, from a lady.... "Coach, what about the secondary? I'm a little worried..." Bob: (blinks, shrugs) "Well, I'm not worried."
I really would have liked to stay and hear more, but I had to escort my elderly Dad and Father-in-law out so we could beat the rush.
Safe to say, a good time was had by all. :)
