My low-side hose has a very slow leak where the aluminum portion is crimped to the rubber portion of the hose. Hose replacement cost is retardo-excessive.
I have to use r-134a refrigerant. Researching prices, I found some of these refrigerant-with-sealant offerings that - according to the manufacturers - could save me some money for a year or two.
Just wondering if anyone's tried (and had any success with) refrigerant-with-sealant?

Sounds like a problem that a liberal application of duct tape ought to fix. :texan:

2006 Maxima, it's the low-side line. Best price I've found so far is $290 but the labor is another $250 (this is not something I should try myself)

I figured that, but I always consult with the S.O. before making decisions ;)
It's just - I don't wanna pay $540 to fix a leak, which is so slow it takes months to reduce the refrigerant, in a car I'm not going to have longer than another year or two anyway.

how long does it take to leak down where it effects cooling?
if it's a very slow leak....and you're only going to keep the car a short time....i'd just keep adding refrigerant (assuming you can do this yourself)....
then sell the car in the winter;)
Oh, ****. :D :D
Wear this, on the left.
Maybe the helmets too.
