Dan Boren wont run for re-election. Too bad really...I have a lot of respect for Boren.

He is going to stay out of politics for a couple of years and then run for Inhofe's senate seat.

^^ I was just thinking that I doubt he's retiring.

He's playing it smart I think. The legislature is likely gojng to redraw his district anyway so better to leave voluntarily than lose the next election.

He would be the first dem that had a real shot at winning in a long time. But a lot dems think he's a Dino anyway.

If he couldn't win a new district on his name, he could on his wife's.

It'll be interesting to see where he winds up. He's done a good job, and I hate to see him go.

Maybe even more than dear old Dad....Dad endorsed Obama in 08', Dan didn't.

Dad Boren has always been astute politically speaking but his endorsement for Obama on 08 was one of his stupidest moves. Not only did it take a chance on alienating the largest donors to the university but borens endorsement carried so much clout that Obama lost all 77 counties in OK

Thank God. I live in his district. He's a dooshbag royale.

For a dem that seems a little strong. He has been pretty good on some issues important to OK. Particularly oil and gas.

No more sitting in the tree stand commercials?

Those really were terrible. A close friend of mine is on his staff and thought it was pretty cringe worthy.

Who the **** is Dan? When I saw this I went "OH **** NO!!." Then I saw it was some Dan guy that nobody gives a **** about and I was all good.

He was smart enough to pay attention to his last election. It wasn't the landslides he had in the past. He only started moving to the right after that. He still hasn't seen a spending bill he didn't like.

I use to call his office weekly & ask questions about how he was going to vote on upcoming issues. His office flunkies didn't have a clue what was going on.

Screw that...I'd be elated the day Dad Boren announces his retirement!
