Wow, I see Pabst going away in the not too distant future. I can't imagine the foolishness of paying millions to buy a brand and then undermining the stategies that restored the brand's value.

I had planned to buy a six pack of Pabst sometime this summer just for kicks. Pabst had a "grain flavor" that was not unpleasant as compared to the other generic Bud/Miller/Coors light lagers out there.

Sounds like the new owners have a different vision from the previous employees. Looks like the new owners plan isn't working. Either plan they go with I know this: I won't have PBR in my fridge unless someone else brings it in.

Oh, and I'm down to one Hoegarden in the fridge. Scary to think about what I'm going to spend at the liquor store soon.

"Frank Booth" played by Dennis Hopper in "Blue Velvet" was the greatest PBR celebrity endorser ever!

"Heinken? F that S**t! PABST BLUE RIBBON!!"

B.R. Zoom, a marketing and advertising agency, played a key part in growing PBR. It helped manage a secret band of guerrilla marketers who were paid $35,000 to $50,000 a year to buy rounds of Pabst in places like Portland, Ore.; Seattle; Berkeley, Calif.; Brooklyn; and Chicago's Wicker Park

Why can't I ever find a job like that?

My wife will be displeased. She likes her PBR and frankly, the new /old PBR is much better than what it turned into after I left college. I am afraid that PBR which was good, will go bye-bye.

Man, those Whogivesa****-olopolous kids sound like a couple of grade A Billy Madison d-bags. I love how the dad said they bring "out of the box" thinking, and then their ideas are PBR beach towels, and having Will Ferrell sponsor it.

I hate to think of them pulling Old Style from Cubs games. That just wouldn't be right.

Title of the thread should have been "Trouble Brewing at Pabst"!

Was a staple of my diet in college! (1970's)
