Heard the tail end of a conversation on Sports Animal this morning about the Brawlers shutting down, not paying bills, not paying players. Said something about JW mainly being used for his name and getting caught in a bad situation.

Anyone have any more specifics on this stuff?

No specifics unfortunately, but I went to a game earlier in the year. Based on the crowd, feeling, etc., you could tell that this announcement was coming.. Just a matter of time.. :(

Are they an indoor league or something? Sorry don't know who the Brawlers are and what they have to do with Jason

My guess is that they are an arena league.

I have some friends who played for them and he said he wasn't sure day to day if he'd have a job. This was in the fall.
he was a former OU player.

After the AFL reorganization, the OKC Yard Dawgz went away. The Brawlers were part of the IFL (Indoor), I believe. I applaud the guys that were playing for them, but it appeared to be right on the edge of semi-pro..

Arena football is only fun to play. Terribly boring to watch and almost impossible to be a fan of to me.

Sadly, most knew this was inevitable when they made the initial announcement.

Maybe he can sell a few air conditioners and pay off some of the players.

I heard that the owner didn't negotiate to get concession revenues, which is a large part of these teams' profits.
