Watched They Were Expendable this afternoon... seen it before, really liked it... (can you imagine if Hollywood tried to produce a realistic movie that included the Bataan Death March in these PC days?... The march wasn't in TWE, but got me thinking about it...)

Other good Duke movies that I like:

True Grit
The Horse Soldiers
Wake of the Red Witch
She Wore a Yellow Ribbon
Fliying Leathernecks

What other ones do you really like?

The Searchers is sheer greatness.

Rio Bravo and Red River are two others worth mentioning.

Loved "The Cowboys", but not for John Wayne. I only had eyes for A Martinez and Robert Carradine. True Grit was great -- but Glen Campbell was so bad as LeBeuf that John Wayne got his only Oscar.

Most of the Wayne movies I've seen, I saw as a kid and wasn't old enough yet to appreciate classic movies like I do today. Having said that, I did like a few of them. Probably Rio Bravo the most. The Cowboys was good too.
