Oregon State losing twice to Oregon may have opened up another host spot which would go to either Southern Miss or Oklahoma. My guess: OU would take that spot.

This all depends on the committee deciding that Oregon State's late season collapse has knocked them out of the hosting picture.

I've been shocked a couple of times in the past few years. This year, I won't be shocked, but I'll be surprised.

We dropped again in the RPI overnight. I think it's likely that Southern Miss gets the last host spot or they send Southern Miss, or us, out to Fresno as a 1-seed.

The field of 64 for the 2011 DI Baseball tournament will be announced at 12:30 p.m. ET May 30 on ESPN.

The 16 regional hosts are announced today at 2:30. I think tcu, so miss, Oregon state and ou are fighting for two spots.

And before anyone says I'm crazy go look and see how those three teams finished the year and tell me we aren't neck and neck.

You're not crazy, Colston, I ran the numbers yesterday and you're 100% spot-on. I would even argue that OU, Southern Miss and TCU are fighting for two spots unless they give Oregon State or Fresno State a host as a two-seed.

We'd better hope that no one related to blind umpire Mike Morris of Abilene, Texas, is on the baseball regional-hosting committee. Seriously, I hope that if it comes down to OU and TCU that true logic prevails. While we had a bad showing in our tournament, we did beat TCU twice. And, they also lost twice in the MWC tourney in San DIego to a team from ABQ that came in at 16-39.
