I have. Are you staying at the Sandals Emerald Bay? We went there for our Honeymoon in January. Very peaceful and not very crowded at all. The water is so freaking blue.

It's not like Nassau tho, the resort is just about the only thing on the island..so you wont be going into town or anything.

I had a great time. The butlers arent as awesome as they make it sound, but eventually you do get what you ask for.

I've had Exuma...does that count?

No, actually renting a house near Sandals.

So there's nothing in town (assuming you mean George Town?)? So there's not really anything to do other than lay on the beach? Sounds like my kind of place...

From the airport to the resort area there are like 5 buildings...nothing that you WANT to go see..well maybe the liquor store :) It's an off the grid place for sure. We got in a lot of beach and pool time for sure.

Thanks Lawton, appreciate the insight. All in all, would you ever return or would you choose another destination?

Let me know how you like it....

I thought Nassau was awesome but...we didn't have the kids that time.

I would take them back to enjoy the Atlantis Hotel and to go out on the NZ World Cup Yacht they have in the bay. One of the coolest things I've ever done.

Matter of fact...here's the guy I went with and I got to sail the NZ 12 meter World Cup Yacht back into the bay....It was AWESOME ! ! !

I'd totally go back. It's beautiful, it's calm, the weather is perfect. The curious side of me would want to see what another place is like, but I wouldn't be sad if someone told me I was going back.

I wouldn't recomend it to those who want to go into town and do zip line tours and explore ancient ruins and things like that because that's not really there, but if you really enjoy the beach and just RELAXING, you'll have a blast.

2,000, which must be reapplied every 15 minutes. I hope a zombie eats you.

Forgot to say, George town isnt much of anything to be honest with you. I think they a straw goods market and a barber shop. It's like taking a step back in time...the airport is smaller than Westheimer!

BTW...that sailing trip I took....it wasn't cloudy like that. It was like Lawton is saying it was for him...BLUE SKY and the water was as BLUE as you have ever seen that day. I've been to Hawaii and a bunch of Carib Islands but something about the day I was in Nassau....It was gorgeous.

Wow. Isn't there a DEA base on the island somewhere as well?

The Wife and I went out on a Wooden ship called the Mi dushi in Aruba on our Honeymoon and they take you snorkling out to this old german ship that has been there since WWII and it's beautiful there too. They have a bar on board and served us BBQ Chicken....

I've got some really beautiful underwater pics somewhere that I need to put in a album someday.

The Caribbean is much bluer/clearer than Hawaii. Also, with the white sand bottom, it creates a much more turquoise color. The water is also warmer than in Hawaii.

For the life of me, I can't get why people love going to Hawaii. Expensive as hell, takes a day & a half to get there/home, treated like **** by the locals, 4 or more timezones away, jet lag, etc. Over rated.

On most of the Caribbean islands you're treated much better, it's cheaper, the water is warmer/clearer/bluer, you're 1 or maybe 2 timezones away, you can leave here this morning and be on the beach this afternoon, etc.

The only exception to these "rules" are Jamaica (****ing dump) and the French side of St. Martin. Yes, they've got 5-star French restaurants, naked beaches, etc, but it's all chock full of the ****ing French. Rude effers they be.

The Dutch side rocks. Casinos, a golf course, laid back people, everything marked in dollars and guilders (the French side is in francs only and the rude ****ers won't tell you what it equals in American money - in fact, it's hard to get anyone over there to speak English to you).

If you like to scuba dive then you have to hit the Caymans at least once in your life. I don't care much for life above the water there (expensive) but underwater is the allsome.

Yeah, you never really adjust to how blue the water is. Every day I found myself saying LOOK HOW BLUE IT IS.

We did a little snorkeling thing and it was pretty neat. Nothing too fanciful under the water in that area, but I liked it well enough. The water is even bluer where they take you.

I'm hooked on the Carribean for sure.

All this is trumped by the awesomeness of masses of indian men (dot not feather) in black speedos.

Enjoy the visual.

Have a Kalik for me! Beer there is very expensive, $60/case in Abacos, prob the same in Exuma.

I'd go with rum mixed drinks next time.
