Cabela's picked up a butt load of the Russian made Mosin Nagant 91/30 rifle

I picked one up yesterday for $99.00 - comes with a bayonet, sling and two original magazine pouches

it was made in 1943 - when Germany was breathing down the necks of the Russians - and you can tell that quality wasn't a huge concern when they were pumping these things out.....the mill work on the bolt carriage is pretty rough - but the wood is in great condition and it's operable - so i plan to get it to the range as soon as possible

(this isnt mine - just an internet picture)

yep, 7.62 x 54R - they had a deal on Herter's ammo for a 20 round box at 10.99 - not cheap and it's not something i'll shoot all that often - but i couldnt pass it up at $99.....i'd rather take my Garand out to shoot it!

well the mill works quality is obviously a reason for the low price - but the millions available really doesnt match the demand, hence the cheapness

i'm confident it'll shoot

I picked up a Russian-made SKS about 15 years ago that was still packed in cosmoline in the original box. It was made in 1946. $99.

Right now it will bring $300+ all day long. I have a couple Chinese made SKS's and they ain't worth crap.

Tricked them out with folding stocks and flash suppressors and sold them for 2 hun each a couple of years later. After going to the gun show last fall, I'm wish'n I'd have held on to them...
