Did you hear that socialist fly right over your head?

Even though he was visibly uncomfortable during the exchange, I thought he handled the confrontation with decorum. He lied, but at least he didn't get beligerant.

That's funny: "How does an avowed socialist go about selling a book?"

And therein lies the problem with socialism. Those advocating it want your money and possessions, but thier's are off limits. The whole idea of socialist nirvana is such an obvious contradiction of principals that anyone pimping it is either blinded by the glossy words and fancy writing or has nothing but the worst intentions in mind for you and your stuff.

It's fake? As in a "fake" "ambush interview?" Come on, dude. Whether the twerp in the video does this all the time or not is beside the point. He clearly shows a man at odds with his ideas. You're right. He seems like a dooshbag to me, too. Yet all he did was point out quite vividly the hypocrisy of that old geezer's book...which he's selling...in a bookstore...run by a corporation...and giving the proceeds to a made-up charity.

Or would you care to clarify what's going on in the video? Which is an ambush video. Which is also fake bs.

what about the problem with capitalism??

What problem?

LOL! Seems the Senator doesn't have a problem exploiting it, yet he bitches about it in his book. Again, what problem?

So you're ready to live like Stalin-era to Brezhnev-era USSR (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_economy)?

just about every economic theorist who has ever lived has come to the conclusion that the inevitable eventuality of a purely capitalist system will result in such a huge disparity between the rich and the poor that the poor will take the rich's hoarded wealth.

just about every economic theorist who has ever lived has come to the conclusion that the inevitable eventuality of a purely capitalist system will result in such a huge disparity between the rich and the poor that the poor will take the rich's hoarded wealth.

And the inevitable eventuality of a socialistic system will result in the rich having everyone's money, property, intellect, soul, etc.

So I guess that puts us in a conundrum.

As in who? Mainly socialist and communist theorists (who tend to be 'thin on the ground' these days following the collapse of every example of their theories being tried in the real world....excepting of course North Korea (perhaps the best example of communism that has ever existed - the system in its purest form), Venezuela (what will Hugo do when there's no more capitalistically amassed wealth to steal? Who knows?), Laos and Belarus). Oh and I'll grant some communitarians would probably buy that statement as well. Unfortunately for them, it doesn't 'take a village' to do my job. It takes me, getting up and going to work.

I suggest the short but incredibly tightly written 'The Road to Serfdom' by F.A. Hayek. Or you could move back to one of the greatest works of political philosophy ever written: John Stuart Mill's 'On Liberty'. Either or both will sufficiently explain why Capitalism is both theoretically and practically the only system of economics that supports human freedom. Hayek, as an economist first and philosopher second is particularly good on this point.

On a purely personal level, think about the income disparities of the feudal period in Europe or contemplate the dachas outiside of Moscow and then revisit that judgement regarding capitalism's income concentration problems.

Easy now Diver.

Bernie is a fine socialist that Obama campaigned for in 2008. Who could be against a man that supports socialism....certainly not Vermont.
