I'd think in thirds. A third to add to the retirement nestegg, a third for kids' college, etc., and a third on fun stuff, vacations, and upgrades, and stuff I put off like getting my carpet cleaned.

Start with paying off all of your debts (minus the house unless you can pay that off also). Next build up your savings account. Depending on where you are in your life, you should invest the rest. I would also suggest keeping a little to have fun with.

Well I don't know but I don't think you are going to make any money that way. I'm sure that is your goal.

$100k isn't what it used to be but it still isn't chump change. Good decisions and a little elbow grease can turn into it quite a bit more.

The days of just investing your money and doing nothing are over for most people. Pick something you like to do and grow your dollars while enjoying yourself.

It is what I would do. That or bury it in a mayonnaise jar after converting the dollars to gold.
