The in-depth look into the advantages and disadvantages of each toilet paper orientation was created as part of a viral marketing campaign for Engineering Degree, a resource for would-be engineers.

My personal take--if you really want to get good coverage in the trees and on the roof, it's essential to throw the roll with the paper hanging over. So, which way do you roll?

First off, they're called 'sheets'. It's a double entendre, and not a very good one.

Secondly, the orientation of the roll has far less to say about a person than the more penetrating question of whether you are a 'folder' or a 'scruncher'.

I too rest mine on top of the holder, then I can stick two fingers inside the roll with my non wiping hand and wrap some around my other hand when I need to take some off. way more efficient
