I've been to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Very nice place to visit for the summer, unfortunately, I can't feel all that positive to the football team.

Probably about the usual 3-9, with one mild upset that will have people acting like they achieved something. They do benefit from not being in Albuquerque and its leech-like print media. Much like the Oklahoma Aggies, they're awarded moral victories more freely than the "University of" school does.

They play 13 games sooo.... 4-9! That seems to be the standard there.

Landry probably actually does know people who go to school there. Artesia has even sent a few kids there to play football. But I doubt he cares how they do, either.

When Hal Mumme was their coach at NMSU, they tried to use the Air Raid offense that Texas Tech pretty much re-patented. They were still losing to UNM regularly but putting up big passing numbers. So a local TV sports anchor, who doubled as a radio personality on a prep sports show, wondered out loud how Landry would do if he went to NMSU and played in the Air Raid. My unspoken thought was that he'd never go to a school with that kind of tradition, even if it meant putting up big numbers. He's already doing that well enough at OU lately.

Hell, I didn't know Mumme left. Who's their new coach? I only live about 75miles from there, too. Like I care.
