Happily, I am still best of friends with the entire gang I hung with in high school. They now live around the world and have mostly married well and have kids who are pleasant to hang around with.
Since that time, though, I can say I've made only a couple. Strange how that works.

I count myself very blessed to have several friends I could call if I ever woke up in a hotel room with a dead hooker. Many of them even own shovels.

That's what happens when your family is a bunch of nutjobs--you have to make VERY good friends. ;)
