What did you do to your knee? I'm a veteran of 4 knee surgeries and am waiting for the 5th....Luckily I have my other 2 legs to use

Working a structure fire inside a house. Stairs started to go so I was getting off them and stepped in a pile if debris and my right knee got jacked. I had to be helped out. MRI showed torn meniscus, ACL and PCL. Had surgery about 3 weeks ago.
I tore my ACL in my left knee and had surgery in 1994. Two ACL surgeries makes me Heisman eligible.

Can't get any worse than that. Must have hurt a great lot. I know two people who tore their ACL's lately, and they couldn't take enough pain pills to take that pain away, after the surgery.

Actually, let me correct myself,MRI showed ACL and meniscus, PCL was discovered during the surgery.
Rehab is much more painful than the tear itself.

Were any of the ligaments completely gone? One of those people I talked about, had his completely gone, so they took out part of his patellar ligament to use as ACL, adding to the pain even more

Both were gone. My left knee was that patella tendon harvesting, it was rough but I was a young buck. This time I got donor parts.

Torn meniscus here...agree on the rehab. Can't imagine what STEP has gone through...I'd prolly done taken a Poulan to my lower thigh by now...

Couple days ago.
Spend almost all day in the bendy machine with my 'lectric knee and started physical therapy last week.
I had a second clean up surgery on the left.
I couldn't imagine having multiple surgeries on each knee.

The dreaded machine. Probably there's no greater pain in the whole rehab than when it first starts moving....
You'll be on your feet soon though.

If my measurements are correct, just measuring from knee to heel, the overall height is 5'2".

i tore my right acl in 96, had the surgery - the rehab sucked - those electrotherapy pads or whatever they're called........did not like those at all
the feeling of trying to take a step and your quad muscle not cooperating, with the resulting collapse of the leg......good times
hope your rehab goes ok

Rehab is much more painful than the tear itself.

I figured I have done over 2 1/2 years of PT the last 6 years.
Torn ACL, Meniscus, PCL, in 96 playing basketball at NSU....ACL surgery was huge ordeal then, so i had them repair the meniscus and left the other alone..gave up college sports.
Fast forward to 2007 and I have a boating accident...The knee gets destroyed and break my arm in a few place...r the period of 11 years of having a torn acl, I splintered chipped off the bottom right of the femur and messed up about everything else..
Had the ACL surgery, microfracture bone surgery 6 months later, had another meniscus repair done, and in need of knee replacement but the doc says I am too young for it(34)...Says I need to try and get 4 or 5 more years out of this one..They cut part of the hamstring to make an ACL out of, so my hammy cramps and hurts a lot..
I've been in pain so long its really not an issue..I have all the pain meds, they just don't do much...

step - what kind of new ACL did you get? patella tendon graft? hamstring graft? cadaver? etc?
they cut mine from the patella tendon - so i've got a numb spot on my knee - along with the occasional arthritis
That is why you crush'em up, mix them with baby laxative and then snort'em. Problem solved.

they cut mine from the patella tendon - so i've got a numb spot on my knee - along with the occasional arthritis
hamstring...Now that hamstring cramps and hurts a good portion of the time..If at my desk, I have to move the chair up for about 30 minutes let the knee feel better then I lower it back down but the hamstring starts hurting...

What I enjoy doing is eating some greasy food after the brick gets started..sit on the terlet and then once the brick drops, the chocolate river follows...I call it breaking the dam..

the guy that went thru rehab with me had a hamstring graft - it left a small hole or indention in the back of his leg - looked really strange
what made matters worse for me - was blowing out my ankle on the same left - after i had fully rehabbed the knee - had to have it scoped out - and i'm to the point where i need to go see an ortho
losing weight would certainly help i'm sure

I had a medium to full depth tear in my right meniscus, and during the MRI they discovered that I have girl knees. My kneecaps are malformed and slant to one side of the knee, which puts like 20x the pressure on that side. They fixed my right knee (supposedly) by lengthening the quad muscle on one side, but the left will need the same surgery eventually. **** sucked.
God speed, SoCali. Knee pain sucks donkey balls.

Okay, that sounds like a whole lot of suck and makes me not even want to mention my multiple knee surgeries or the time I tore my arch and all the ligaments in my ankle.

I have no less than 7 bottles of vicodin, 4 bottles of Soma, and much more. I try not to take much if any, it makes me loopy and I don't like it. The electrical stim unit works damn well. I've had it two weeks and maybe only taken one or two total happy pills.
I'm just a dick, pain or no pain.

Left knee ACL in 1994, by 1996 I was working USAR with the crew that went to OKC to work the Murrah bombing. Chicks who saw the scar would ask how I hurt my knee...."blew it out doing rescue and recovery at the OKC bombing".
