Right out of the oven and cut. Then right out of the kitchen past the kitchen table past the dinner table and back to my Computer.

I just don't like the thought of picking up a pizza and then having to wait another 20 minutes while it baked. I want it now!

You can smell the active yeast in the dough and the fresh ingredients....it makes you even more crazy while you are waiting for it to come out. I seriously suggest the 425 degrees and around 15 minutes baking time. It says 12-18. Also....if you don't have an oven thermometer....get one. While you are waiting....open a nice Cabernet and let it breathe

If you can't wait like Boomer....just get Mazzios and pickup the beer at QT/Loves before they get there with your pizza

Papa Murphy's is freckin good. When they are close to done, I slide them off the tray to crisp up the crust a little more.

Yep. Also...There is absolutely no way I could eat more than 3 pieces of it on a good day. 3 would only be 2850 calories....lol. We got 10 pieces out of each pizza. I ate 2....1900 calories. With the strawberry ice cream I had later....it all cancelled out each other.

What kind of pizza did you get where 3 pieces is more than the entire pizza I described???

BTW....I gave up pizza for lent. It's been a very long time since I've had any pizza. I had been thinking about what I was going to have for over a month.

Since I was able to keep my promise...I felt like splurging a bit tonight. Don't worry. I'll only be able to have one of those a day from here on out.

It wasn't the thin one they make. I'm not sure how many the one I got was. I'm just using Cruiser's numbers. You know....the guy that thinks if you put a red Walmart trash can in the back of your car....it's been modified. :D

Heh. I got the numbers off of their nutritional info on their website....you know....ambiguously farce primary resources. :D

FYI - I don't know where you all are at, but the best pizza in Norman is Meme's on Chautauqua.

When I visit my folks and order delivery pizza my 75 year old dad always drones on like Hank Hill about how it isn't as good as Papa Murphy's, I tell you what.

Pappa Murphy's is alright but it's take out Sam's Club pizza. Another thing, how authentic can a pizza made by a guy named "Murphy" be anyway? How about Pappa Gonzales or Pappa O'Leary? Maybe Pappa Yamamoto's for an authentic Italian sounding pizza name?

All that being said, if there is free Pappa Murphy's I will eat it. I am, shamefully, a pizza whore.

Sandro's on Main says "nuh uh."

Besides, Meme doesn't carry pizza. It carries pizza casserole. Everybody knows that Chicago style pizza is really a casserole. NY style pizza is pizza.

It's good. As the original? I know it's not better....I'm a lot older and back then...I really liked it. I'm not sure how to feel about it now....I will eat there again....but next time...I might take a pepcid AC if I'm gonna eat a LB. of the jalepeno chicken....lol

I like the thin crust. It's yummy. It's the sauce that does it.

Are you talking thin crust at Meme's? I haven't seen it. I get their Italian beef/sausage sammy sometimes, but all I've ever seen in terms of "pizza" is the casserole. I'll go back to Meme's for pie if they have it.

If you're talking Sandro's/NY Pizza then hells yes.

i've been making homemade pizza for years and will never go back to chain store pizza or even gourmet stuff.

1-1/4 cup of whole wheat flour
some milled flax seed
a dash of salt
some yeast

1/3 cup of 110 degree water

mix 1/4 cup of flour with water and then slowly stir in the rest. knead(sp) for about two minutes and then let rise for about 15 minutes.

then I cut the following:

1 onion
lots of garlic
olives
grape tomatoes
broccoli
jalapenos

then i add shredded four cheese to the above mix.

flatten and bake the crust for about 8 minutes at 375

take out add sauce and mix

bake for about 12 minutes at 375

yummy

I've watched momma make pizza for the past 16 years. I used to work at a pizza joint when I was a young kid. "grape tomatoes and broccoli" go on a salad, not a pizza. It ain't a pizza without cheese, then pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, jalapenos, bell pepper, ground beef, canadian bacon, and bacon (only cause bacon goes on EVERYTHING).

The rest of your recipe is pretty close - except momma uses whole wheat flour and mixes garlic salt, oregano, and about a lb. of butter in her crust mix. It's some damn fine eats.

Yes, thin crust at Meme's. I get pepperoni and black olive. I didn't think I liked Chicago style since it's so bready but theirs is good. That's what hubby gets so I have some occasionally.

Also, the Chicago dog kicks ash.

I'll have to try Sandro's sometime.
