Yes, putting aside how much I hate their football teams, those are two good ones. I'd probably put Michigan's up there, too.

On the other hand, that Roman trumpet thing or whatever that USC does after every three yard run really grates on my nerves. Same goes for Rocky Top.

As for what I'd say, besides Boomer Sooner of course, is Notre Dame's and Michigan's. Not sure what after that. Hate Notre Dame but their fight song is good. Don't have any good or bad feelings for Michigan but it is the same tune as my High School's fight song.

To me, the purpose of the fight song is to rally your troops and if possible, get under the skin and p!ss off the other team's fans. In other words, make both sides want to FIGHT. Not party, not dance, not hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

Without question, Boomer Sooner works for rallying the Sooners and since it is soooo repetitive and played ad nauseum by the Pride, I know for a FACT it works to drive opposing teams and fans crazy. That makes it a GREAT fight song.

There are three schools whose fight songs drive me nuts, therefore they succeed in getting under my skin and on my nerves....

1. * their "* fight" is annoying enough, but of course their fans add their little "OU sucks" after the screaming trombone wails and I, do indeed, wanna punch a cow.

2. usc. it's not only catchy, but incessant. It gets under my skin just hearing it.

3. notre dame. instantly recognizable and very in your face. one of the best and best known fight songs. I hate it almost as much as I hate the fighting Irish. blech.
