If he's really the "great moral leader of men" that he pretends to be, he will resign. But then again he should've done that a long time ago.

He is in trouble. After next season maybe he will be gone, but until then, he as to be there guy

When do they play Nebraska?

I think it would be very funny if Nebs stomped its way through to a Big10-11-12-13-14 title in their first year.

I need to learn how to read. I don't think he will be there in 2012, but think he will be there this year.

Yes.

I think the NCAA extends his 5 game suspension to 12 games and tOSU lets him go for cause.

Your head coach needs to be the face of compliance in your program. I say he's gone sooner or later.

Begrudgingly yes. I love how polls liven this offseason up :)

Tressel shouldn't be the head coach next season.

The head coach is suppose to portray the good in the program. They are suppose to be the disciplinarian and the person that holds the highest standards of the program. If he is a liar and cheater, what makes you think that it stops at TattooGate?

What makes us believe that he had nothing to do with Clarett and his joy rides and CDs?

What makes us believe that he is not turning is head on $500 hand shakes?

Not to mention that OSU has had the most investigations and infractions (minor) since he has been head coach.

The guy lost all integrity he ever had, IMO!

I think he should be fired! If the players can not get away with lying to the NCAA - then why should the coach. That is a terrible precedent to set.

What I don't understand is why he isn't pounding the pavement RIGHT NOW looking for a job. If I was tOSU president, the sweater vest collection would have hit the curb yesterday.

There is no way "in Tressel we trust" is Jim Tressel going to resign or be fired form Ohio St.

He will use it as an example to deal with adversity and mistakes and correct them with Action.

It is a possibility he will fall under big time scrutiny - but even if this is a Major Violation - He will also be fined and will coach next year for the buckeyes.

He should have pulled a Pete Carroll and pushed the eject button and jumped to the NFL. Had to think the Bengals would have given him a really good look before their decision to resign Marvin Lewis.

That being said, I think he's still there in 2012

He broke it, let him fix it. He is certainly being paid enough to do so.

Tressel should go but it's not our problem. Thank God we've got Bob.

I've only disagreed with one of Stoops' disciplinary decisions and that was regarding Ryan Broyles. However, Mr. Broyles has proven me wrong with his conduct the past four years. Hat's off to him making the best of his second chance at OU.

Most Ohio State fans that I've run into down here want him gone. I don't think he coaches this season.

Stoops' no-nonsense policy on off-field issues is probably the reason we'll never win a Fulmer Cup. He seems to have zero tolerance for embarrassments (always punishment, even if we never hear about it publicly) and subzero tolerance for major embarrassments.

The Broyles' incident? A semi-major embarrassment, because he just arrived on campus and it made it REALLY look like the reason he was attending OU instead of OSU was for free gas (and Pokes said as much, speculating that it was a booster providing free gas, and not an ex-mayor who was furious when he found out).

Noted. Duly noted.

But that was the only time I disagreed with a disciplinary decision and both Ryan and time have proven me wrong.

Really? Is he going to use it as an example huh?

Maybe an example on how to cheat and try to get away from it.

Had the FBI not been investigating the Tattoo guy, then we may never have found out about this right now.

Why didn't the person that contacted Tressel also contact the AD?

Fact is, Tressel seen the loss of Pryor and 4 other starters as a potential detriment to his season. So he did nothng about it. He wants nothing more than to win at all costs. And that is evident in this lie that he tried to hide.

It is one thing to do your own investigation and think no rules were broke. but it another to dismiss it and then sign a piece of paper that there were no ineligible players that he knew of on his team!

If I am a manager, director, CEO, etc, when it comes to a person in power and I am in control of the company....and I do something that covers up and lies about an issue that can be classified as a detriment to the company, then I will likely lose my job.

Take a look at Enron...those guys were cheating to make money, to win the stock market game...they lied about it.

I know Enron was a violation of federal laws...the OSU think is just NCAA rules. But I think you get the point.

Coaches should be held at the highest standards, much like CEO's of companies.

If he is guilty of what he is being charged of and gets any less than a 1 year suspension, it is a Fn joke

He needs to step down to save what's left of his dignity.

Otherwise, tOSU will have no choice but to fire him or else risk punishment for this season and future seasons.

It's over, Jim. Pack the sweater vest... save it for a smaller tier school.

Tressel should be gone, one way or another.

But I suspect he'll pull a Slick Willie and just weather the storm.

Whatever happens, he'll probably have a book deal in about 4 yrs talking about lessons learned, redemption, character, etc...

you're talking about the same people who only fired Woody Hayes because they had no obvious recourse due to the widely televised incident in the Clemson game.

Actually, I think retire is correct. Tressel cheated at Youngstown State, moved up to tOSU and did the same thing but also blatantly lied to his employers and the NCAA about it. The man should have a 15 year 'show cause' placed on him. Let him join ESPiN with the rest of the asshats.

MyT Oklahoma

The longer he stays the worse it will look for OSU but then I don't really care. He knowingly used ineligible players and then lied about it when he got caught.

Cheating and lying. Lying and cheating. Hardly real family values at any school including OSU.
