He should sue the **** out of the cops. The burden of proof should be on them before busting in on someone's privacy.

Vet, if you are in a rural area, I wouldn't worry so much about it. The odds that someone is going to be happening to look for a signal out in the country I would think to be a rare thing.

log into your router and look at the wireless security settings. if your router/computer won't support wpa2, i'd really think about upgrading

even if his wireless network was secure, someone could have easily hijacked his browser or anything else and hacked his computer and done whatever they wanted from that IP address

I don't think mine is. It used to be secure but anymore I can't get it secure and Linksys says I have reset it and since it has been so long since purchasing they won't help me without paying them. I think I need to get a new one.

WPA2 + MAC filtering + 5Ghz only + Do not broadcast SSID = NO NETWORK 4 U!!

I think I'm good on the wifi... :D
