A man has discovered the face of Jesus on his sock - after spilling bleach on it.

James Henderson, 23, had accidentally splashed the liquid on the sock a few days before he went on holiday around Europe with friends.

He thought nothing more of it, packed the pair and only saw the image on the final day of his whistle-stop tour of 10 cities in 10 days.

He said: 'We'd literally just got to a hostel in Amsterdam and I sat on the bed to take off my shoe.

'I couldn't believe it really - I called over my pals and they were all as shocked as me.

'I've heard of people finding images in weird and wonderful places before but it was a surprise that I found one on a sock.'

James, from Oswestry, Shropshire said although he isn't religious - he still felt it would be disrespectful to throw it away.

He added: 'After I got back from holiday I didn't even wash it let alone wear it.

'I just don't want to ruin it so I'll have to pray it doesn't get smelly.'
