I used some hickory and pecan on some ribs I did Monday. Damn they were good!

My dad would always send my brother and me up into the woods to cut down a hickory tree and a pecan tree for a BBQ. Hell if I could identify a hickory tree out in the woods. My brother always thought he could and he was wrong about half of the time and we would have to go cut down another tree.

But, I am internet smart now. I probably could identify a hickory tree if I had pictures.

Although I am internet smart, I still have no clue what Mongo is talking about.

One thing I've learned in my short smoking career is that I don't like the fruit woods. Cherry and apple suck. Hickory and pecan are where it's at.
