haha actually all my friends drink(i mean most of them a lot) cause we are all in college. My gf dosnt drink that much(about as much as i do). And a lot of them used to smoke a lot, some still rarely do. I just am not attracted to it is all. I understand why they do it. I just dont like it.

See, there is no real difference. Ask someone coming off of Effexor if it's any worse than a heroin withdrawal. Look at longtime LEGAL xanax users and compare them to people that have been taking meth for the same period.

I don't think you should lie although....we all do to one extent or another....I also think I've seen plenty of folks who did this stuff in College get a little drunk one night and think they'd like to re-live their youth a little bit. Then Monday morning they get hit with a drug test. They lose all credibility at their work and have to explain why they did it or they lie and lose their job. Again...all credibility is lost. I've seen it all over the years. Pot was like drinking a glass of water back when I was a kid. There weren't tests like they have today.

Back in the late 70's some guy was in charge of a Subway Car and after the wreck they did a test on him and he had MJ in his system. Now....he hadn't smoked in days but they fired him and he got hung with all of those people's deaths because he wasn't paying attention. Was it right to fire him over the pot? Or should he have been re-trained and gone to rehab and put back to work when he was clean again? I mean....it was just pot.

Since then they have had these tests for people in Transportation. Why not Medicine? There are more potential problems with prescription drugs these days....why not make sure the folks who distribute, prescribe and do surgery are just as squeaky clean?

Why shouldn't folks who get assistance from Tax Payers or work for the Gov't in any position be required to do randoms instead of these hire on drug screens?

I've heard that false positives happen at the very low levels and that the folks who are really hot for MJ....they usually can't pass an initial 5 panel litmus type test. The Spectro-analysis tests where they get down to 5-15 NGs are where the false positives happen.

They usually check the 2nd part of the sample again. They never do another test. I think that's BS as if a person has a real problem with pot....they are gonna get high right after they took the first test as they think you aren't going to test them again.

Also....the tests where folks mask their samples....their levels of Creatinine won't be present and can be construed as lying on the test.

IMO....lying is worse than just admitting you smoked it.

You will not become physically addicted. People can become mentally addicted, where they think they need it, but there is no withdrawal or anything of that nature. There is nothing physically addictive in Cannabis.

You can not die from overdosing on weed. There has never been a recorded death due to Cannabis overdose. THC doesn't even effect the same parts of brain as just about every other recreational drug.

What does happen:

Coughing can and will happen, especially if you inhale too deeply. If you smoke fags (tobacco) you'll probably not cough as much as you are used to having smoke enter your lungs.

Lightheadedness can happen, but that might be due to inhaling too deeply and not getting enough air. Inhale deeply throw a straw and the same thing will happen.

After around 5 to 10 minutes you will feel the effect. Cannabis has as many flavors as alcohol so they effect can vary. Far too often people smoke more than necessary, a single 'hit' can get you 'high', more will just get you more high.

Many people who smoke lose track of time or no longer feel limited by it. Sometimes it feels like time slows down (ie "It's only 4:30? It feels like I been here an hour"). The best way I can describe it being a young child again where you had no concept of time and it felt like you could being doing what ever you are doing for forever.

If it is your first time you will get the giggles, every thing will be funny. After extended use this will slowly go away. Be prepared to be called a spaz.

This doesn't mean you'll get good ideas, entertaining ideas, yes; but always remember that you are under the effect of a mind altering drug and what seems like a pretty good idea might not be.

Something that is often not mentioned about weed is the freak-outs. These usually only happen if you smoke a decent to large amounts of weed. These can be anything from mild paranoia to panic attacks. Most are very minor and don't last too long as you will get distracted and start thinking about something else. It's important to remain calm, try to understand why you are feeling this way, remind yourself that it's only the drugs talk, and it can not hurt you. One method to help get rid of a freak-out is to add a number by itself and then do the same with the result and continue to do this as long as you can keep track of the numbers in your head (2+2=4, 4+4=8, 8+8=16, and so on).

I have friends who smoked (and some I know still smoke ;)). I really don't care, I never did care. But to claim most people use illegal drugs regularly is asinine. The only people I know who claim "most people use drugs" are the people using illegal drugs. I think it makes them feel better.

Montel Williams is adding a new role to his resume: Medical-marijuana seller.

The television talk show host and product pitchman has announced that he is partnering with a medical marijuana dispensary in Sacramento, Calif.

Williams, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, said that cannabis helped his chronic pain when pharmaceuticals were causing him harm.

"Prescription drugs nearly shut down my kidneys. Then a doctor suggested I try medical marijuana," he said, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Williams credits cannabis for improving his well-being and his ability to cope with constant neurological discomfort.

Because Doctors prescribe medicines that are regulated in strength, consistency, etc...

You won't see a Dr. that prescribes Opium Poppies either, for example.

It's not really that, (believe me, I think ALL drugs should be legal...a stance that very few seem to agree with me on) I think that Doctors, in General, are only going to (and probably should only) prescribe FDA regulated substances. If some quack wants to prescribe drinking 16 oz of vinegar everyday for joint pain, I don't think he could possibly be any more of an expert on it than the grocer, for example.

As for pain management the cons of medical marijuana are very different from those of opiates. Mostly, it's about medical marijuana policy whereas the cons and dangers of opiates are physical. Since Alcohol remains in a person's urine for 72 hours, a positive test is, in no way, indicative of impairment at any given time.
