Asked if he had a timetable for when he’ll know about Fleming’s future, Stoops said, “let me put it this way,” then he smiled for several seconds before adding, “it means I feel pretty good.”

In the article some other fun stuff about Bob. He'll be golfing at Augusta National with Mike, and he once hitchhiked to a Bob Seger concert.

But the quote about Flemming, while weird at first, seems positive.

It would help a TON to get Fleming back. He was a really solid corner at the end of the year.

Sounds promising. If he wasn't coming back or trying to come back I think the coaches would have already said something.

I don't know if that means he feels good about Fleming returning or if he feels good about where we are without him (IOW he feels good about Gabe Lynn)

Flemming will be back. Keep in mind his grades were fine but it is standard practice to suspend a student for a semester for what he did. I also know for a fact he will phyically be ready to play when he returns.

I think OU needs Fleming at lot more than most on this board. I think it's very important for this team to make a title run that they have their two solid corners back and ready to go. It's just to difficult to replace 3 out of four in the defensive backfield especially when our defensive interior is young and a bit of a question mark. We need this guy back soon.

This is huge, it just possibly shored up our teams main glaring weakness this year. Those who say Flemming was a solid corner are understating. He was our BEST corner last year, and second best db altogether behind Q.

Yes, which would explain why he was kicked out of school for a semester. It sounded like he cheated on a test or plagiarized a paper. Standard punishment for a second offense is suspending them for a semester of school and a permanent notation on the transcript.

Not completely true. I'm not sure if he could be reinstated for summer or if it will occur for the fall semester only but there is a plan in place to address his conditioning.
